INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

Protection: Is priceless! When you're putting together a set of high-end headlights, the last thing you want is moisture in 'em the first time it rains outside. After many years sealing headlights with spools of butyl meant for windshields and sunroofs; we've finally got a product that puts OEM-style sealant designed specifically for use in headlights, and indeed it works well!

Purpose: Until now, the only other butyl-ropes on the market were meant for "universal" applications, and true headlight butyl only came in blocks that were nearly impossible to apply without industrial machinery. Morimoto's Retro-Rubber is designed specifically for resealing headlights, not windshields, sunroofs, etc.

Consistency: At room temperature, the RetroRubber has a much harder consistency compared to OCI Butyl glue. Given the "fingernail test" it will harden up just like any OEM Butyl Rubber glue once cooled.

Color: Not all headlights are created equally! Whether your housing was originally sealed with black or gray glue, the RetroRubber has you covered with options. Available in....you guessed it, black or gray... you won't have to settle for a mis-match.

Quantity: Each roll comes with approximately 4M of glue, which is easily enough to re-seal two or more large headlights. Simply stretch it out until it's the perfect thickness to fit inside the headlight channel, cut it to length, rough-fit the lens back onto the housing, heat for at 265F for seven minutes, and compress the housing back together. Done!

Best Decision Ever

by

Bought this glue Feb 2019, due to my headlights where keeping water like a bucket. Since the closure of the headlights not a single drop of water or moisture seen. Great stuff gonna order 2 more for my friends who want to retro there headlights.

Best way to seal your headlights.

by

To me this is the best way to reseal your lights. This is a much better option than using any glue out of a tube. It is more controllable and can be cut to the perfect length needed. No waste! Seals perfect once headed, and there's plenty of it to do more than a set of lights in one roll. I will be buying it again for my next project.

beware of hot days

by

the stuff matched the factory sealant to a tee and seals out water like no other. Just make sure u get all the old sealant or as much as u can off the old housing don't over do it! or you will have dripping sealant on your beautiful new projectors and inside housing and having to take them all apart again, clean up the mess and resealing them..(hoping that this time they seal out the water and NOT drip on the inside again)

Great quality

by

I prefer the black color but they both work the same and used both. I prefer the black as it looks cleaner if you manage to get most of the grey out from the stock assembly.

Great Product for Reassembly

by

Fantastic Product. Easy to work with, easy to form and reacts visibly to high heat, which makes it easier to judge the products temperature while you're working with it.

Great sealant

by

The retrorubber butyl glue is a must with any retrofit project. It works perfect. I have sealed up two sets of headlights so far and still have enough to seal up maybe one more light. Both sets of headlights have had zero moisture issues!

Great stuff, soft and similar to nissan butyl

by

Easy to use sealant, has very similar properties to nissan oem butyl for sealing headlights and tail lights.

Highly recommended and a great price for such a large amount.

One pack will do two regular sized headlights without any issues.

OEM Quality....top notch stuff!!

by

This stuff is amazing! Very easy to work with...looks and seals just like oem, if not better!! Looks like a professional job. At first I was concerned about having enough to seal both lights but I had plenty and probably enough left over to do one more light. I am so thankful that someone recommended this stuff to me. It's made me a regular customer for other things as well.
