No Substitutes: If you're still running oldschool halogen headlights on your 18-20 Ford F150, then you're just behind the times! If you're running a set of different aftermarket headlights, well, these should make you second guess that decision. The second gen Morimoto XB LED F150 headlights: Look amazing. Are well-built. Have a virtually infinite life span. An unbeatable warranty, and out-perform all of the alternatives. Easily making them the best LED headlights on the market today for the F150.
Second Gen Update: The 18+ F150 XB headlights broke the internet when they came out... and while they were the undisputed king for quite a while, other options from brands like Alpharex came out that offered a little more light. In true Morimoto fashion, nothing gets left alone for long and now there is no question: The XB LED Heads for the F150 are back on top, and will be hard to top, period!
More Light Output: The original F150 XB heads used two projectors on top for the low beam, and two on the bottom as a dedicated high beam. The new setup utilizes all four projectors for the low beam and has a dual Bi-LED setup for the high beam. The results? 200% more light output and a better distribution of light for improved visibility in the distance and off to the sides of the road. Asked and answered!
Start-Up Sequence: And if the optical upgrades weren't enough, the badass start up sequence has been added too. When the Daytime Running light kicks on, the projectors illuminate in a two-stage sequence before turning back off. A video is worth a thousand words here... so make sure to watch the one embedded in the listing to see that in action! While it does absolutely nothing for performance, you can't deny the cool-factor!
DOT Approved: Make no mistake, these will produce a much different [better] result than slapping some LED replacement bulbs into your stock housings. Their quad-projector optics meet & exceed all SAE, DOT, and FMVSS108 regulations when aimed properly...and that's easy to do with their integrated vertical/lateral adjusters. US market lights are equipped with amber side markers.
Plug-n-Play: Wiring is easy too! The Morimoto F150 LED headlights are designed to work on your truck without any modifications. They will plug into the factory connectors for the stock headlights and each assembly includes all necessary connectors, rubber seals, and pigtails for a plug n play install. No error codes, no flickering, hyper-flashing, or radio interference. They can easily be removed and will not void your factory warranty.
Sequential LED DRL: Game Changer! Their LED daytime running light is powered by Osram 5000K LEDs and is insanely bright, easily visible during the day. A separate optic that's dedicated to the turn signal function uses amber LED's to produce a full sequential turn signal. While that feature will cause others to mistake your truck for an Audi; for those who are a bit more traditional they can also be setup to run as solid on/off style signals too.
Well-Built: Their UV-coated polycarbonate lens will resist the test of time, ensuring your truck's new headlights will look good as new for many years to come. The PPS plastic housing is light-weight and much stronger than comparable alternatives. The die-cast aluminum heat-sinks inside the housings provide more than an adequate amount of cooling for the OEM grade Osram LED chips that produce the light. These use the same external housing / lens from the gen one version, and those have held up like OEM after a few years on the market.
OEM Plus: We live, eat, and sleep headlights. While the F150 LEDs from Morimoto cost a bit more relative to other options in the aftermarket; as the saying goes "you pay for what you get". We've seen it all, and their fit and finish is far superior to everything else out there. Guaranteed.
They Look: Amazing. At least in our opinion! The design of the second Gen F150 LED heads was inspired by the OEM LED headlights from the new Ford Expedition. The subtle elements incorporated in their design are more than enough to make them stand out, but they're clean enough to be considered top of the line original equipment to those who don't know any better. The piano black trim and smoked gray diffusers keep the color scheme neutral, and the quad kuria-optic projectors are as modern as it gets.

AMAZING Headlight Upgrade!!
I just got these installed on my 2018 F150 XLT with stock halogen. The stock headlights are just garage for light output and actually seeing the road at night. These new Morimoto XB LED headlights look so good in person. I was worried how bright they are (which is great), but they have a nice, clear cutoff line projected ahead, so it doesnt blind other cars. Seriously. These are amazing headlights and I love them. Makes my truck look better and function even more. I don't see a function to attach photos here but man, i am really impressed. I got the matching Morimoto XB fog lights too, which match perfect in color. A nice, clear, crisp bright white. Bye bye dingy yellow halogen lights. If you have the cash, you should get these for your Ford. For safety alone and driving in the hill country roads at night, I can see deer and objects much farther than before. I normally don't write reviews, but these definitely deserve the time. Thanks again.
The Install is just nerve racking a bit popping things off your never torn apart truck if you havent done it before. The finished product Is awesome. Lights are unlike anything on the road , no the LEDs arent as clean lined as say a new Cadillac but these look very high quality and I purchased them with the fog lights, the protective lamin-x and tail lights. Makes a statement on the road you have something cool and unusual for sure. The light ouput is way better than stock, without the fogs you are lighting up everything. Some people think the price is ridiculous, well I'm glad I took 2200$ and bought the whole set with zero regrets. I have had them on for 2 weeks now with out one issue from anything.
These lights do not disappoint! Took about 2 hours to install in my garage last night. Performance and look over stock headlights simply cannot be captured via camera. You have to see these for yourself!
These lights really look amazing. They out preform the stock light by leaps and bounds. They really finish off the look of the front end. There ARE a few bugs that I think I have ironed out. They are 6 star and I deducted a star for the trouble shooting lol. For the high price these bugs should be worked out, but I see them being a well built part overall.
Just received mine and installation took about 2 hours start to finish. These changed the entire look of my truck. I am only giving them 4 stars for 2 reasons. First is that I am getting a great deal of interference coming over the radio. The description says they won't, but they sure do. The second is hyper-flashing. Again, they claim they won't but mine do this periodically. Hoping these issues go away, but I do not believe they will.
Gotta say I'm totally happy I purchased these and didn't waste my money on just putting in LED bulbs. They make my truck standout from the rest and they put out light way better then stock OEM. Yeah they're pricey and took awhile to get them but it was totally worth the wait. If want a badass look and to actually see what's in front of you at night but these sexy beasts
Could be great
The light output is fantastic. Wait until the bugs are worked out and the price comes down. One light works perfectly and one light has an issue, so I need to re-check the connections and get to take the front of my truck off again for troubleshooting.
Could be great, with better quality control.
Installed these to find 2 dead diodes in passenger side halo. Other than the defect, the lights have amazing output, clear lines, and look great.
Worth Every Penny, Amazing Headlights
Just got my XBs installed a week ago and so far couldn't be happier. The light output is fantastic and far better than the OEM halogen housing with LED bulbs. Plus the DRLs and sequential turn signals make it stand out from anything else out there.
The first thing I noticed taking them out of the box is the overall quality of the headlights themselves. They are by no means cheap-o aftermarket lights, the quality of design, materials, and assembly is easy to see. The only thing that concerns me right now is some of the wiring on the back and how it is routed, plus how that will stand the test of time, but with 5 year warranty with these things, it shouldn't be much to worry about.
The installation is very simple and straightforward, just take your time time and you'll have them swapped out in no time. The plug and play is no lie, the only additional thing needed is running the DRL wire and that is cake.
I did purchase the Lamin-X film to go along with it, but it is the same film used for the OEM LED headlights, so there is a cut out/indent in the middle for the raised section in the film. I asked TRS and they said that is fine and just lay that section flat on the XB lights. I wasn't a fan of having that cut out there so had a local guy clear bra it instead and came out great.
Overall extremely happy with the lights and can't wait to enjoy them for years to come!
TRS & Morimoto deliver excellence with these!
I have had my 2018 F150 for just over 2 months now and pre-ordered the Morimoto XB LED headlights as soon as they were available to do so and even paid extra for the expedited shipping from overseas versus standard. Having had previous experience with retrofits and HID lighting and going back to halogen I was extremely excited to get the Morimotos from The Retrofit Source (who are great guys and always a pleasure to work with) and let me tell you I am thoroughly impressed with both TRS and Morimoto. The packaging that the headlight assemblies came in is top notch and even full color illustration instructions are included (big bonus for those who do not have access to the factory service manuals) although I had both, but only headlamp assembly removal process (thanks to this forum and a member kind enough to post from his purchased FSM (thanks to whitefox)).
So on to the good stuff, starting with removal of fasteners in the wheel well you have to loosen the fender flares, then you move on to loosening the bumper/grille trim, then the radiator trim, entire grille assembly (being careful but it takes some coercion), then the trim/headlamp support brackets, the headlamp assemblies, and finally electrical connections while pulling them out. Once out, separate the headlamp bottom mounting brackets from the headlight assemblies (to later transfer them to the new Morimoto XB LED headlight assemblies in preparation of installation). Then run the included DRL Y-harness wiring, I found that tracing the stock wiring from the passenger side headlight area through and up to the fuse box, then back to the driver's side, following stock wiring and securing with zip ties worked easiest. Now you are ready to locate the fuse to remove and replace with the fuse tap included in the DRL Y-harness wiring and move on to connecting, mock installation and testing operation of the new XB LED headlights. Which went off without a hitch thanks to the great instructions included and WOW are they ever SO sweet looking!!!!!
Then reinstallation of the headlight assemblies, securing them finger tight before torquing things down individually is recommended in case any final fitting adjustment is needed. It was much easier putting everything back to it's original location/configuration than removal for sure and MAN do things look amazing as I am putting it all back together since the Morimoto's black housings and stacked projectors match the look of my truck MUCH more than the stock one's!
And holy WHOA on the light output, as it is VASTLY improved to illuminate the road ahead!!!! The DRL strip is CRAZY bright for daytime viewing/visibility and looks WONDERFUL!!!!
I have to say, pictures do not really do it justice, you have to see these in person with your own eyes to truly appreciate just how great these are, all around, the attention to details in the design, manufacturing, wiring, instructions, packaging, and performance ALL exceeded my already HIGH expectations!!!!! I could not be happier with my decision to get these!!!!! Driving to work this morning was seriously a night & day difference from yesterday with being able to see further/wider/clearer down the road.
