INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the reviews, and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?

HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!

XB HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in fog lights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.

Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your fog lights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.

Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.

Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 880 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]

User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven't made a decision just yet, keep reading!

I just got my p

by

I just got my package of HID’s two days ago and last night was my first night driving with them and wow! I was amazing at how bright these are compared to my old HID set with the same 6000K color but TRS was definitely brighter. I guess the quality of parts and bulbs do make a difference. I am glad I chose TRS and I have been eying a new pair of HID’s since I saw them. When my HID system finally died, I had an excuse to buy these! I did run into a small problem with the length of wire for the Moto control relay. I like to make my installs clean so I had just barely enough wire to make it to the other side of the car. I was limited to my placement because my situation in the hood of the car not having many mounting locations. I did wish that the negative wires were a bit longer as that contributed to limiting my mounting location as well. Just small stuff, other than that I am loving these lights! The Relay did make a buzzing noise when I first turned them on but it went away. I heard it was normal because it is new and the ballasts and relay have to charge up when you first get them. I also recommend when you first get the lights to have the burn in the first time you have them on for 2-5mins. I remember that from my old lights and from research on HID’s. Might be different for TRS but I think it makes a difference and doesn’t hurt to do it. Definitely recommend them to anyone! My love for HID’s has been reborn! Thanks TRS! Retrofitting is definitely on the list for my next mod!

I decided to go

by

I decided to go with TRS based on very positive reviews on the quality of their products and excellent customer support. When my HID System came, I was blown away at the craftsmanship that went into their parts. And when one of my bulbs went out prematurely, the customer support was prompt, friendly, glad to help out and an overall smooth process. Needless to say, there will be no need to look elsewhere for my future purchases. Thanks to everybody at TRS!

'16 Honda Fit

by

I finally took the plunge and ordered this kit after reading rave reviews on Morimoto's since I first got my HIDs. I was surprised everything was all modular where it's easy to order replacement parts. I know quality hardware and Morimoto is by far one of the best hardware I have seen so far. You get what you pay for, also don't forget they are already at a reasonable price. Direct from Morimoto costs closer to $200 and TRS is a reputable dealer.

Since I knew how to install HIDs it was super easy. For the beginner you will be confused why everything is modular but there are guides that Morimoto have. The wire harness is something new for me to install but easy. Except the Honda Fit has tight clearance in room for everything so it took me longer than expected to plan the install and tuck the wires neatly.

Pros:

-Quality hardware and parts

-Awesome customer support and guides

-Fast delivery

-Reasonable price

Cons:

-Wire harness was a pain to install, Honda's fault at making everything so hard

I would reorder more kits for my other cars when the ballasts die out. I ordered the 6500K and they are superior to the 6000K I have from an off brand. 6500K actually has a tinge of blue like 8000K but still better.

A happy wife

by

My wife complained about the OEM Halogen bulbs are too dim in the rain on her 2000 Solara, so I decided to return after I got myself a pair of 9006 4300k system from TRS. Direct plug and play and after 30 mins of DIY. There goes a happy wife happy life story. One thing after installation, make sure to re-aim your headlights for better beam angle so you can see further ahead down the road. Another thing is that I ordered the H4 4300k and the color turns out to look like OEM Halogen yellowish rather than the clear white color from my 9006 4300k for my Prius. I am not sure if it's the bulb or something to do with the old car.

Installed my kit on my Toyota Tacoma the other day. Couldn't be happier, one of the best upgrades you will do to your car/truck. Install was very simple, just plug and play. Took a little over an hour. Lights make all the difference.

Universal HID Kit is awesome

by

Great quality in all the parts provided in this kit. For some extra cash it would be nice to upgrade the light bulbs with higher quality, but don't get me wrong, The Morimoto parts still are 5 stars. Bought this kit for my brother and is so awesome I had to get one for myself.
