INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

No Comparison: When it comes to HID bulbs, Morimoto has always brought us the best in the aftermarket, and their latest examples are no exception. Sure we think the options from Philips and Osram are great too, but when it comes to bang for the buck - nothing compares to the Morimoto XB HID lineup. Compatible with 35W and 55W: The XB's will produce more lumens, last longer, project farther, and look better doing it.

Lumin Osity: At the heart of the XB H7 bulbs is their perfectly aligned 100% Philips quartz glass that houses a capsule from APL-USA. Using high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer, the bulbs produce nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the amazing Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night. In our comparison to the big brands, Morimoto's XB capsule ran with the best of em!

Long Life: The Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes help keep the bulbs running brighter for longer. In comparison to a Philips bulb with 200 hours of use, the Morimoto will maintain 83% of it's intensity whereas the Philips bulb will retain 86%. Yeah, the Philips maintains a little longer, but this kind of longevity is unheard of in the aftermarket. We're impressed!

Precise Alignment: Morimoto's Symmetry-Structure frame surrounds the base of the glass capsule keeping everything properly lined up, which is paramount when it comes to HID bulbs. In the past we all agreed that precision wasn't the strong suit for the XB bulbs... But the latest are indeed the greatest - and they're now consistently well-aligned, which is a good thing - because it means the output is also consistently bright and uniform throughout. [Applause]

Industry Standard: The XB replacement HID bulbs are built to industry-standard size specifications and are compatible with all ballasts with "AMP" outputs - making them a perfect match for a replacement bulb or upgrade! We've tested them here in the shop for reliability with all ballasts from Morimoto, Hylux, ACME, Denso, Hella, Bosch, and Koito and passed with ease.

HID for Audi A4

by

I’ve been running these HIDs for a few years now and had a bulb go out but I have loved them! Just bought some new bulbs and you can’t beat the price and customer service at the retrofitsource. Will definitely be buying another HID kit from them for my other vehicle

Fit great, and greatly increased the light output on my low beam projectors

AWESOME bulb for upgrading B5 A4 halogen projectors!

by

Purchased these for a 2000 A4 with halogen projectors. I was concerned that the bulb length would be to much and cause the dreaded 'wire shadow' in the foreground lighting so common to halogen projector HID conversion attempts, but it was NOT an issue.

Parking my car next to a factory HID equipped 2001 A4 at night, the lighting output is almost the same, with a little bit less width of the beams, and basically the same downroad lighting, (real difference is in the projector bowls, not the bulb output) making the stock bulbs look like dim flashlights in comparison.

Beam cutoff is the same as factory HID, as both cars use the same lens and cutoff shield.

The metal base is a perfect fit for the H7 hole and clip, and even the lead wires disconnect from the rear of the bulb making changing and install even easier.

The xenon gas bulb is in the EXACT same position as the H7 filament, and output is very smooth and even because of this.

Don't waste your $$, or time trying to find short H7 bulbs for an old Audi with halogen projectors, just buy these!!

-Notes-

I have been using these bulbs for nearly 3 months, and have no issues with them. The gas bulbs are not scorched, and I see no UV damage to the lens bowls when I popped out the projector to clean the lenses. These are ran by the 35 watt Hylux ballasts, sold here.

Shipping was fast, and the order tracking is excellent!

2012 hyundai sonata h7

H7 bulbs are very nice colored and bright bulbs. Nice choice of connecting ends to choose from and are built strong. I've used German made bulbs and these are the same if not better. Company ships wipes to clean bulbs also which is a very nice professional touch.

Doesn't fit VW anymore. Wider diameter from previous version.

by

DO NOT get this product if you used to buy the older version H7 HID Morimoto bulbs. The previous version were a snug fit on VW, requiring a little modification to the fastener clip. This new version has a wider diameter bulb base and will NOT fit on VW fastener clips, even with modification. TRS will not refund you or try to help you out if you make this mistake. Believe me, I've tried. This has rendered my Morimoto HID retrofit completely useless, as I can't find bulbs that fit anymore, so don't bother buying the harness system either.

H7B fixed my lights

by

I had blackout aftermarket projectors installed in my 2013 Ram 1500. The H. I. D the so called pro installed made my lights look horrible. After doing research and finding the retrofit source, purchasing the bulbs and installing, my problem was fixed.

If you had H. I. D installed and your lights look like cat eyes with shadows in your beam, try a set of these H7b series bulbs and your problem will be fixed.

They also have other size bulbs that correct this problem. Call these guys and you won't be dissapointed.

Shadow Issue - On my application

by

Just purchased the 5500K bulbs and the color and quality are wonderful. However for my installation it is casting a shadow. I even tried to do the 6 o'clock mod by modifying the base of bulb only to realize that the H7 bulb is actually not symmetrical (you can also see this by looking @ the halogen stock H7 bulb. After modifying and inserting it back into the retainer clip to install due to being asymmetrical the bulb + retainer clip takes on an oval shape unlike the usual circular shape. This makes it impossible to insert, turn clockwise & lock into place. I'll have to live w/ the shadow for now, but I'm hoping TRS will be able to figure out a fix for this in the future.

TRS if you have any ideas to fix the issue or if there is anyway to custom order a bulb for this application. I would be the 1st to purchase.

I did a little research & it seems like Xeon Supply actually produces a H7 bulb that corrects for this issue, but having a cutout on both sided of the bulb. Whether that bulb still creates an oval shape w/ the retainer clip, I'm not sure. From my experience right now though, if the cutout was just simply made it also won't work for my specific application. Xeon Supply specifically makes the cutout to accommodate the Hyundai Sonata, and that application looks slightly different. The bulb is inserted into the projector and the retainer clip is snaps over it. On European cars the bulb is inserted into the retainer clip/adapter and together they are inserted into the projector and turned clockwise to lock into place or counter clockwise to unlock and remove.
