INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS
Rivaled: A long standing debate in the automotive aftermarket...Morimoto, or Hylux ballasts? Often regarded as the "other" great in the HID lighting industry; Hylux has been building reputable parts for about as long as we can remember - you just couldn't buy them from TRS, until now!
Standards: The Hylux 2A88 EU-Spec Canbus HID ballasts produce an industry-standard 35w of power which typically provides around 3200 lumens on a quality 4300K Bulb. They will accept a 9-16V range for input and will power all HID bulbs with industry-standard AMP connectors.
Convenient: They are compact and can fit most anywhere under the hood. No need to worry about moisture intrusion, as their shell is completely water resistant and the circuitry inside is protected by potting.
Powerful:Their powerful igniters are also capable of quick re-strikes without fail. Well designed circuitry and igniter setup results in a relatively fast warm up time for the HID bulbs when powered by a Hylux ballast, but without requiring much power.
CanBus Capable: The 2A88 has an integrated error canceler on the input line, making them compatible with most European vehicles without any extra gear required to cancel "lamp out" errors.
Backed: By a full Three-Year warranty from the manufacturer, you know they're putting their money where their mouth is. If these ballasts fail under warranty, you're covered!

BEST REPLACEMENT BALLAST EVER
by Jonathan
The most high tech ballast I've ever used on any of my cars. Had to get this for a newer Hyundai as the generic ballasts on the market do NOT work with KDM CAN bus signaling. Worth every penny. No more flickering or shutting off at high RPM. The noise cancellation must be superb because no error codes for low power lights or lights not on either. Note that this only affects newer vehicles that use a single wire loom to control a whole headlight. Otherwise standard ballasts can work if that's what you need. No separate relays were needed for me. And they work with the HID's I got on the kit that barely worked. Does have a ground wire included. Connectors are secure and universal for HID kits. Easy install.

These ballasts are excellent for avoiding having to plug in resistors that get super hot to avoid upsetting the canbus system. But these seem to be of great quality right on par with Morimoto XB35s. Speaking of Morimoto:
Pros/Cons compared to Morimoto ballasts:
Pros: quiet operation, sleek design, integrated canbus error cancellor
Cons: harder to mount, lesser warranty (not by much), integrated igniters (versus replaceable), integrated AMP connectors (versus D2S/AMP capable), non-braided shielding on wires
I'll update later with an extended review since I only installed these this week but they seem to be pretty good so far.
Very good In for the price

Hylux 35W Ballast are very good in comparison with other so called ''premium''AMP Ballasts. They are fitted with 4500K Morimoto bulbs, and while it outputs a crispy white light with a hint of yellow just like oem, it cannot match the OEM Xenons brightness. I have two other cars with OEM xenon. Thanks TRS ultra fast shipping and a very polite person on Chat!!!

Great product. There is no radio interference. I like the design on the ballast.
Wonderful ballasts! Zero issues!

I've been running these Hylux ballasts for awhile now. I purchased them before they were available from TRS. I already have a set of the 3Five Morimoto ballasts in a different vehicle and I wanted to see how the Hylux compare. I have only good things to report.
Visually you can see that they are built very well. Although not as artsy as the Morimoto, they still look good.
Warm up time is very fast! Just as fast if not faster than the Morimoto. There is zero RF/EMI noise with them. Other ballasts would trigger a TPMS warning light for a few seconds when turned on, but I've never had an issue with the Hylux.
Side by side with the same bulbs they are just as bright as the Morimoto. I swear by watching them that they may even be a little faster on warm up.
They are efficient and don't draw much current.
They are small in size which allowed me to actually install them in the sealed headlamp housing along with the Morimoto Mini H1 Projector. This is awesome to me! They are completely out of the Michigan elements. The Morimoto would probably also fit although them see to be just a little bit thicker.
All in all I have zero complaints and have been very, very happy with them. We all know that the Morimoto are very high quality, and the Hylux is no different. My Hylux and Morimoto kits are just about the same age, and in that time frame I did have one Morimoto fail.
The Hylux may not be as flashy as the beautiful Morinoto, but you can tell that it was built to work and last. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for new ballasts and for whatever reason may want to use use something other than the Morimoto.
