INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

No Comparison: When it comes to HID bulbs, Morimoto has always brought us the best in the aftermarket, and their latest examples are no exception. Sure we think the options from Philips and Osram are great too, but when it comes to bang for the buck - nothing compares to the Morimoto XB HID lineup. Compatible with 35W and 55W: The XB's will produce more lumens, last longer, project farther, and look better doing it.

Lumin Osity: At the heart of the XB 9012 bulbs is their perfectly aligned 100% Philips quartz glass that houses a capsule from APL-USA. Using high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer, the bulbs produce nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the amazing Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night. In our comparison to the big brands, Morimoto's XB capsule ran with the best of em!

Long Life: The Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes help keep the bulbs running brighter for longer. In comparison to a Philips bulb with 200 hours of use, the Morimoto will maintain 83% of it's intensity whereas the Philips bulb will retain 86%. Yeah, the Philips maintains a little longer, but this kind of longevity is unheard of in the aftermarket. We're impressed!

Precise Alignment: Morimoto's Symmetry-Structure frame surrounds the base of the glass capsule keeping everything properly lined up, which is paramount when it comes to HID bulbs. In the past we all agreed that precision wasn't the strong suit for the XB bulbs... But the latest are indeed the greatest - and they're now consistently well-aligned, which is a good thing - because it means the output is also consistently bright and uniform throughout. [Applause]

Industry Standard: The XB replacement HID bulbs are built to industry-standard size specifications and are compatible with all ballasts with "AMP" outputs - making them a perfect match for a replacement bulb or upgrade! We've tested them here in the shop for reliability with all ballasts from Morimoto, Hylux, ACME, Denso, Hella, Bosch, and Koito and passed with ease.

2013 Chrysler 300

by

Had then in my 300 for over a year. Really like how bright they are and cut off. Buying them again since they burn out eventually, want to have a spare set on hand.

Upgraded my HID Upgrade

by

Not too many of these on the market. If you're currently running a modified 9006 in your 9012 projector, swap this in for an amazing improvement in light output.

My previous (china) 4300K bulbs had darkspots, and the cutoff/hotspot was terrible. Not to mention the color was way off (looked more like 8000K)

I highly recommend the 4500K XB! I can't comment enough on how much better they made my night driving.

Seem good, but not for Chrysler 200

by

The days of cutting up your 9006 bulbs to force them to fit are sadly not over if you own a Chrysler 200 or similar vehicle where the halogen projector is upside down - bulb clicks in with the return wire at 12AM instead of 6PM, so you get major ground return shadow...though this might only be for my car. There is no variant of this bulb where it is reversed, and tech support suggested reversing the socket so it goes in the right way, but you just can't do that with the tiny amount of room you are given to work with in the floor compartment.

Light output seems good, but with the wire bouncing around over bumps being highly visible, it just doesn't work out. Sad since I did enjoy the beam pattern more than my 9006s but it looks like until there are plans to make a 9012b variant (which there are none at the time of writing) I am out $40 for bulbs that just won't work for this car. Also they forgot my alcohol pads.

Worked great in 2015 Charger

by

Maybe the bulbs position differently in the Chrysler 300 lenses but I had no ground wire shadow noticeable whatsoever. Have tried a few different bulbs in there and love these Morimoto 4500K the best. They are very close to pure white with just the slightest bit of yellow to them. I think the color improves visibility over 5K or 5500 and they are definitely the brightest bulbs I've tried yet.
