Lucky You: The Colorado / Canyon are great trucks with great engine options, but like anything in the hands of an enthusiast, the headlights, like other areas of the car could always stand for an upgrade. Luckily for you, the Morimoto Retro-Quik system is designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for a big performance boost inside the headlights on all 2015+ Chevrolet Colorados / GMC Canyons.
Easier than ever: These housings are designed in such a way that you can remove and replace the projector from the back of the housing without the hassle of opening it. Check out this install guide for more information on the process.
Bi-Xenon Projectors: The most compact high performance Bi-xenon projectors from Morimoto. With their small framework and compact 2.5" lens, they fit where most don't. Convenient mounting points match the bolt pattern on several modern OEM Japanese applications, making them a direct swap in many cases. But don't let their size fool you. We're gonna go ahead and say not many projectors will out-shine the 4TL-R. Their light output is similar (we might even say better) than the bigger Morimoto Mini D2S 3.0. Even with a clear lens swap and an experienced hand, you would be hard-pressed to tune any OEM projectors to come close in the performance department!
Optional HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!
Optional D2S HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Optional Relay Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade, don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are or how good your bulbs are, if your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. The Morimoto HD Relay harness is easily worth the premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. With triple-sealed twin relays, 14ga. stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality, it will ensure everything functions properly and permanently from the original in-cabin controls. It's easily the best headlight wire harness out there.
Optional Capacitor Link: If you're going with the complete setup and select the relay harness, the Capacitor Link is REQUIRED for proper function on these trucks!
Optional High Beam Splitters: Double high beams?! whaaaat! Put simply, the optional Morimoto high beam splitters allow you to make this feature work easily without any cutting or splicing to the factory wiring by diverting power from the halogen bulb into the projector's high beam solenoid, making them both work at the same time.

Great kit with a couple minor problems
I've finished the install and while it wasn't easy, I'm very happy with the results overall. The light output is incredible and the cutoff is very clean. You absolutely will need the capacitor with this truck, even if you do the DRL delete mod.
I did have a bad ballast with one of my kits so be sure to test them before finishing your install. TRS has been easy to work with and is sending a replacement
My only real problem with the kit is a minor one. When mounted in the Colorado housing using the normal mounting holes, both projectors are slightly tilted. This causes light on the far left/right to angle slightly up and the cutoff lines drift apart slightly on both sides. This is really barely noticeable and I didn't notice it until driving a few hours with the new lights. You might be able to take some steps to prevent this but it's not bad enough to make me change it.
Overall very happy with the kit, just make sure you can devote a whole day to installing it because you will have to at least partially remove your front bumper cover. I had to remove my grill guard too. The whole process took me about 8 hours by myself.
Wow! Plug and Play Upgrade!
New Projectors drop right in place of original ones, though slightly shorter screws or washers are needed. No need to take the lenses off the headlights, the old projectors will come out the back with a little work.
Light output, with Osram Nightbreaker D2S bulbs, is spectacular. Cutoff is sharp, light is wide and nicely distributed.
The BiXenon functionality is neat, and combined with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra high beam bulbs, my truck turns dark rural roads into daylight.
Summary: Great upgrade, highly recommend!
Also: I also recommend the Morimoto XB LED Fog Lights, which is another plug and play lighting upgrade for Chevy Colorado that is well worth the money.
