Combinations: What do you get when you pair two different LED setups, three color lens options, and three different mounting styles? A huge variety of possible configurations! They are really whatever your creativity allows, and THAT is why more than anything....put simply Morimoto's new ModPods are an awesome way to add custom auxiliary lighting to your car, truck, or motorcycle!
Construction: Their CNC 6061 anodized aluminum body is basically bomb proof. Not only does it look great with it's drilled out bezel (that provides a pseudo-halo effect) - but it protects the goods inside. Designed for use either inside a headlight or on your bolted to your brush guard -they're built to last.
Wiring: Simple! Each pod only has three input wires. Depending on which LED setup you choose, they'll have one ground and a positive for the white (or bright) mode along with a positive for the amber (or dim) mode.
Accessories: Step one: imagine the perfect setup for your application. Step two: pick out your mounting points and (coming soon) colored lens options. Step three: rock n roll! For more details on all of the available parts, check out the dedicated Mod Pod Accessories Page
Brake Lights: Choose the dual-intensity LED setup and the red-output lens to build a custom array of slick looking dual intensity brake lights. Check out this Amazing Build by Fuller Moto rocking the ModPods with red brake lenses, featured in the video.
Turn Signals: Choose the dual-intensity LED setup and the amber-output lens to build a custom array of slick looking dual intensity turn signals, or opt for the switchback model for a snazzy white/amber dual function light.
Daytime Running Lights: Choose the dual-intensity LED setup with the white-output lens to build a custom array of slick looking dual intensity daytime running lights.
Reverse Lights: Choose the dual intensity LED setup with the white-output lens, wire up only the high-intensity input, and see like never before as you roll in reverse!
Off-Road Lights: Choose the dual intensity LED setup with the white-output lens, wire up only the high-intensity input, and melt mosquitos with some miniature off road lights.

I got these to use as daytime running lights and supplement turn signals. They are pretty nice little units and seem to be pretty well made. They are incredible bright on white, amber is a little dimmer but still plenty of light.
The issue I have with them is the lack of beam focus and how bright they are. The light spreads immediately out of the unit. They throw too much glare to allow them to be on in any low light conditions. If you only plan to run the white light in daytime, or are wanting to use these for rock lights or back-up lights, they may work alright for that.
I think I will be taking them off and finding another use for them.
These look look very promising... can hardly wait to see Morimoto's spec's on these! I have a sport-touring motorcycle and often go out for rides at night after work and weekends. Many bikes are pitiful in the lighting department... manufacturers expect us to put our trust in one tail light bulb to get noticed and not run over!! I've been searching and studying hard the internet offerings for extra lumen-power in my bike's tail, stop, and turn lights. There's a flood of LED products out there - the better ones MAYBE match the power of the old standard two filament 21/5W bulb... many do not. I need a safety light product that is TWO steps above average and grabs day-dreaming retinas and screams, "HEY! WAKE UP - I'M STOPPING!"
Note to Morimoto: If these are as good as your reputation promises, give us the mounting accessories and we'll be figuring out how to get them on our bikes and feel more noticed and safer. Thanks for developing this versatile and practical-oriented product!
