Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the Reviews and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
Optioned Out: With a variety of available options, the Morimoto Elite HID system can be configured perfectly just for you. This helpful video goes over each of the options shown above.
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto’s engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today’s most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don’t think it can really get any better!
H11 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight…and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
H11A vs. H11B? This is important to ensure you don't create a shadow in your light output! We can confirm fitment on most newer Japanese vehicles as needing H11B, and most Hyundai/Kia vehicles as needing "H11A" (regardless of what stock size states) This Picture and Video will help you make the right choice!
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto’s harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 H11 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven’t made a decision just yet, keep reading!

The Morimoto Elite HID system seems to be spectacular so far. I installed this on my 2012 Kia Sportage. There was a little modification needed since the power plug in this car is a bit different but nothing you can't handle with some wire cutters and an H11 pigtail. I've only been running the lights for about a day now but wow these things kick the crap out of an LEDs I have tried in my projectors, great pattern, great distance, great color. All around awesome!
I ordered these to replace cheap HID upgrade add-on wiring to a pair of Spec-D headlamp assemblies for my 2011 Hyundai Elantra (the aftermarket equipment was flimsy and lightweight; issues with strobing, buzzing, radio interference, and heat - capacitor melted the wire harness plastic).
I am still amazed a couple of months later. The TRS Team has earned my loyalty. The value for the price is uncommonly high. The issues previously mentioned are gone, they ignite immediately with very little warm-up time, and the output is stunning. Installation was simple thanks to clear and effective diagrams and language. I had unrelated questions and the customer support team was prompt to respond, and provided me the impression they were happy to do so.
I was sold a decent rig with 8000K bulbs for my old assemblies, and I was simply used to the bluish light. The 6500K Morimoto H11 has greater output, as expected, but it exceeded my expectation. The cooler temperature is noticeable, but with much less eye strain. (Recently tested with Kensun 8000K bulbs - the trade-off between color, luminosity, clarity, and eye strain confirms my appreciation for the 6500K bulb).
I have had my fog lamps disconnected since the install of these new assemblies given the problems I had with the headlights. I am ordering the Morimoto 880 System today. I was always skeptical about the yellow light for various reasons, but I am beyond impressed with the 6500K bulbs. I also no longer feel the need for additional light from the fog lamps with new Morimoto lo-beam HID system and better headlamp assemblies, so the cosmetic assymetry doesn’t bother me now. I’m looking forward to it!
Thank you TRS Team!
Just bought a brand new 2019 Subaru Wrx Base model and the original halogen bulbs were just not cutting it and were killing me with the grungy yellow color they had. I was recommended this HID kit and let me tell you they are worth every penny especially if you went my route to save money buying a base model instead of paying another 4-5 thousand just to get the led headlights. This kit puts out a lot of light and are even brighter the the led headlights on the new WRX premium and STI as well. I went for the 5500K with the upgraded 50w Morimoto XB55 2.0 Computers and they give this perfect, crisp, and clean white color with the minimal blue hue which is perfect in my opinion. The kit worked out perfectly and these are the only lights i will be recommending to others and putting on any future cars!! The kit had no hassle at all and within an hour i had them all put in and just cleaned up the wires with some zip ties and mounted the motors right up to the crash bar. Amazing lights and amazing price!!
This set was very easy to install using the instructions posted to the site. Once installed into my factory projectors and re-aimed, these headlights vastly outperformed my stock halogens in both illumination of the sides of the road but also in throw distance.
I just got these installed for my 2013 Nissan Altima and I have to say that I am very satisfied with it so far. What I like most about these is the side projection. My Altima was horrible in that area along with projection. By installing these, I am able to see farther away and have the visibility I need on the sides. I will update this review as needed as time progresses.
Ordered this kit 11/21/18
So it's still in the process of being delivered to me. I'm writing my review early with the intent on updating it after the install and testing of the product.
But I wanted to go out of my way to review the website and customer service as a whole. I bought an HID kit which I had questions regarding the product. I decided to use the live chat option at the bottom right of the website page. Immediately sending my question I received a response and proceeded to correspond with an employee there. Extremely helpful, very polite, very knowledgeable, and was actually cracking jokes. I must admit as of now thus far you guys at TRS have gotten A+ in my book. I would absolutely recommend this company, and having this brand before I can absolutely recommend the brand as it truly has stood by its quality for the last 5 Years to my knowledge and my experience. I hope to get them in soon and I cannot wait to install and try them out. I will absolutely update my review after that. But as of now so far an absolute pleasure to do business with. Keep up the good work guys you definitely have a repeat customer in me.
i tried a cheap ebay hid kit years ago and had nothing but problems with it (flickering lights, bad ballast, etc.). i gave up and went back to using the stock halogen bulbs. not too long ago i saw led bulbs were becoming a thing and i tried three different brands. while they all gave an improved color output, none of them were brighter than the stock halogens, if anything they were less bright and almost dangerous to use at night--even in clear weather & dry roads. i did a lot of research and came to realize that projection requires HID (led tech just isn't there yet), and i rolled the dice with this morimoto elite kit. i went with the full relay setup (i think you're nuts to rely on the car's stock wiring), and after about an hour had it fully setup. i still can not believe how bright the lights are. i was concerned that 35w 5500 bulbs would be too blue, but they are crystal clear and look white to me, no color at all which is great. fantastic product, i really hope it lasts as i could never go back to driving with what i had before. i actually just purchased a set of clear lenses for my projectors (from this site) that i plan on installing soon so i might still yet be in for a surprise.
Purchased a set for my 2018 Tacoma. I've had experience on the cheaper HID sets out there on the market. I was always on the "okay" side of it. Installed these H11 Morimoto Elite's and i was blown away!!! Light output is really bright and the cutoff was clean! Don't settle for the cheaper ones out there! This is well worth the $$$!
I wanted to finally write a review. I purchased a set of 35 watts back in 2012 for my wife's 2012 Toyota Highlander and am glad to say they are still going strong. Her truck is daily driven so the headlights get plenty of use and still function flawlessly. I have plenty of experience with less expensive HID kits which always seem to fail after 1 or 2 years but I am glad to say these Morimoto are still going strong after 6 years. Thanks TRS.
After having gone through two separate kits (Xentec 35w & Kensun 35 and 55w kits) I can tell you what a relief it is to finally have a quality product. Xentec and Kensun, total garbage. Not bright enough, always had flickering/pulsating issues, misfiring, and early bulb deaths. Researching online for a better solution always pointed fingers to TRS. Now I see why! I purchased H11 XB55w with 5500k bulbs. The amount of light that comes out is amazing. However, the color of the bulb is not what I was expecting. When going to 55w, the color truly gets washed off. It is a very warm white (almost yellow, not really, idk). I wish I would have gotten the 6500k. Purely aesthetics I know but I am still extremely satisfied with the light output, no misfires, no flickering, it just works great.
