Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the reviews, and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!
XB HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in fog lights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your fog lights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 880 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven't made a decision just yet, keep reading!

Awesome kit
Eric
I am very happy with the 3Five kit with CAN-Bus connector kit for my 2010 VW Passat. The OEM halogens were terrible on dark roads. I added this HID kit with 5000k bulbs and the road is lit much better than before. Because of the projector lenses, they don't reach any further, but what is illuminated is brighter and better illumination of the ditch. I upgraded my high beams to SilverStar Ultras because if I need to flash my high beams, the HIDs won't come on quickly enough. I am fortunate, that VW allows high and low beams to illuminate at the same time. I get good distance with the SilverStars and the 3Fives keep the near road clearly illuminated.
Installation was quite easy as well. I had to cut a notch in the retaining ring that holds the metal tension ring in place. I had to do this to slip the bulb's wire harness through as the hole in the bottom was way too small to pass the connectors. Doing so, did not significantly weaken the ring. I used the edge of a file to make the notch. It took some time, but was worth the wait as I didn't rush and break anything. I mounted the ballast to the sheet metal on the driver's size and to the motor mount on the passenger side.
Well designed and made kit with good performance. Worth the money.

best hid kit by far!
Joe
I recently purchased an h7 kit with harness and capacitor. I have to say i am absolutely happy with the product quality and ease of installation. Prior to ordering your kit, i ordered a kit from another company, who has awesome customer service, however the kit quality was quite low. I even had a burnt out bulb upon arrival! The morimoto kit on the other hand is top notch, ceramic and metal bulb bases opposed to cheap plastic ones sold by many other companies. My install took less than 20 minutes and only took that long because i needed to find a socket extender for the ground bolts, the harness is heavy duty and quite easy to fit to any car. The bulbs are brighter than most oem hids i see on cars, i did get the 55 watt ballasts and believe it is totally worth it. As i write this i am ordering another kit for my fog lights.. Definitely A+++ all the way!

Best HID kit Ive come across
Jason
This is the 4th HID kit I've installed on my car and I'm finally 100% happy! These bulbs have no comparison to any amazon or ebay kit or even the "profession" kit I had put in by a local auto shop, the color is perfect (i got the XB35 5K) they turn on very quickly and are bright and beautiful on my sonata. Thank you retrofit source!!! I even put the retrofit source decal on my back window and i never put advertising on my vehicles but this one earned it well!
Brightest HID's I ever had!

This is what I have purchased for my 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro.

Best upgrade I've made to my vehicle!

This plug and play kit took less than an hour to install and the difference in light output and visibility is incredible!
By far the best choice for HID refit
Matthew Marsh
Vehicle: VW Golf Mk.4
Configuration:
High beam: H7 in straight reflector, Elite XB55 ballast, XB 4500K bulb.
Low beam: H7 in shielded reflector, Elite XB35 ballast, XB 4500K bulb.
Comments on installation: Pretty straightforward, everything went together in about 3-4 hours (including fabricating some brackets for the ballasts and relays).
Comments on performance: Amazing! The beam pattern is very similar to that of the H7 halogen, but the range is dramatically improved. Deer etc. are visible a full 1 second earlier with these bulbs than with the H7 halogens. The VW's DRL circuit just turns on the low beam bulbs, and these work fine for that.
Suggestions to manufacturer: The igniter-to-bulb cables need to be about 3 inches longer. The ones that came with the kit are just barely long enough to reach the bulbs when the headlamp housing covers are open. This puts a lot of stress on the bulb connector while you're trying to wiggle the housing cover into place.
Cleanest kit I have ever installed.

The Morimoto H7 Elite kit is top quality. Harness connectors are nice and connections are secure. Very clean professional kit. Highly recommend.
Elite HID for '04 Mazda3
Zac
This system is phenomenal. I've always been a huge skeptic when it comes to aftermarket HID systems, but when I bought my Mazda, I knew something would have to change. I pulled the trigger on this kit as well as the TRS clear lenses specifically for the Mazda3. What an amazing improvement it is! Definitely recommend this set to everyone that's even considering an HID kit. It's well worth the money. Thanks, TRS!
