Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the reviews, and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!
XB HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in fog lights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your fog lights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 880 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven't made a decision just yet, keep reading!

HID Fog Lights for 2011 Audi A5
Exceptional product, customer service and outstanding tutorials don't due justice to the level of professionalism and quality provided by The Retrofit Source. I recently purchased the HID H11 fog lights for my 2011 Audi A5. I was unsure of what to purchase, or how to install. The description online, the video tutorial and the ease of purchase made things so much smoother and hassle free. What about the product? I had a similar products in a previous car and this is by far of superior quality and build. They fit snug, made of durable material, and of course work perfectly. The products come well packaged, and were delivered within a few days.
High Quality/Top rated product
Purchased this kit for my 2011 highlander. Amazed by the initial quality of all the parts from the ballast to the wiring. Didn't deal with a bulky ballast like other brands have. All connections have a rubber gasket and creates a tight seal so wont have to worry about water getting into them as long as theyre mounted properly. Wish the wire for passenger side was another 6-12 inches longer, i didn't have any issues but cant imagine it being easy for bigger vehicles.Instructions are simple, plug and play. Hardest part is figuring out where to mount your ballast and HD relay. i have the 35w 5500k bulb and view from the drivers seat is top notch. Can see farther and a little more wider than factory halogens. Creates a clean line as well since i have projector style headlights. This is exactly what i wanted and Retrofit came through with a reliable product that i will enjoy for many years.
I can finally see in the dark!
I bought the 6000k 35W XB35 HID kit and this is by far the best money I've spent on my car (2014 Mazda3). I would definitely recommend this to other people.
Only thing that would make it perfect would be better instructional guides and a better instructional video (also, the link to the video doesn't work on this site but you can find the videos on youtube). Only thing that was particularly useful was the wiring diagram. It would probably have taken me significantly less time if there were better instructions and explanations! Other than that, don't let the price frighten you away!
i bought 2 pairs
I bought 1 pair for may 2010 ford fusion, i did liked such results and then i bought another one for the fog lights!
now im completly satisfacted.
I can't say enough
This kit was amazing! I bought this kit for a 2016 4Runner, the 35 watt, 5500k bulbs.
The 35watt is bright, and comes with a 5 year warrenty!! I would definitely buy this kit again, I am super impressed.
For anyone that is interest, and has a 4Runner, I have a DIY review / install over at Toyota-4Runner.org
Impressive Light Output
Got the 35W 5500K H11 Morimoto Elite HD system.
Easy install, all plug and play. I had to mod some simple brackets for the Ballast's. I tucked them away in each corner, and zipped tied the wires.
Installed on 2016 Honda Accord- The DRL's and Fog lights are LED's on the 16 year models. These HID's match nicely with the LED's.
The projector housings put a crisp edge of white light. The difference from halogen to HID is night and day- no pun intended. Lights up both sides of the road and fence. Very bright. My last car had factory HID's so going back to halogens was not an option.
From a cold start up, they warm up fast to their intense light.
Many car manufacturers that installed factory HID's in the past are now switching to LED's. All the tests I have seen, LED's are brighter than Halogen, but they still lose to HID's in most cases.
incredible light output, worth every penny.
i tried a cheap ebay hid kit years ago and had nothing but problems with it (flickering lights, bad ballast, etc.). i gave up and went back to using the stock halogen bulbs. not too long ago i saw led bulbs were becoming a thing and i tried three different brands. while they all gave an improved color output, none of them were brighter than the stock halogens, if anything they were less bright and almost dangerous to use at night--even in clear weather & dry roads. i did a lot of research and came to realize that projection requires HID (led tech just isn't there yet), and i rolled the dice with this morimoto elite kit. i went with the full relay setup (i think you're nuts to rely on the car's stock wiring), and after about an hour had it fully setup. i still can not believe how bright the lights are. i was concerned that 35w 5500 bulbs would be too blue, but they are crystal clear and look white to me, no color at all which is great. fantastic product, i really hope it lasts as i could never go back to driving with what i had before. i actually just purchased a set of clear lenses for my projectors (from this site) that i plan on installing soon so i might still yet be in for a surprise.
Less than 5 for not having a setup for my car :<(
I can understand the additional work that I need to do since you don't have a setup for my 2015 Subaru Outback. The harness is short on the passenger side. I had to add about a foot. The OEM input adapter is designed for ground-type power source so I had to pull out and reverse the "male pins" for a (+) positive power source connection. I am anal when it comes to RED and Black wires. Other than that it works and its bright enough for me.
Like DAY and night ... LITERALLY

I installed a set of the H11: Morimoto Elite in my 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium. The hardest part was the terrible design by FORD of requiring most of the front bumper to be removed just to access the headlights! The install was a breeze, instructions were perfect and the lights are AMAZING. I was having trouble seeing at night and in the rain with the old, dim OEM bulbs, but THESE H11's are amazing. Clean, pure white light with great visibility. They may be lifesavers! The good folks at TRS were on the ball with the online chat recommendations. Just bought the LED fog lights and would definitely but again!
