Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the reviews, and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!
XB HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in fog lights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your fog lights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 880 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven't made a decision just yet, keep reading!

This H11 4300 k
This H11 4300 kit is by far the best I've ever owned. The quality of the light is crisp and clear. My wife's GX470 is complemented by these lights and now has that OEM look. I would definitely recommend these and believe me, you will not be disappointed. The products are quality packed and you can't beat that 5 year warranty!
I spoke to Zach prior to purchasing he was a great help. He was patient, eager to really help and answer all your concerns. He even gave me a code to ship them for free...who does that? Wish every vendor/seller were like him.
I will definitely come back for future purchases. Thanks you guys!
I bought this s
I bought this set for my 2011 Mazda3, and i couldn't be happier with it. The light output is great, and install was a whole lot easier than i thought it would be.
I also just had a ballast go out on me 6 months after I installed the set, and TRS shipped out a new ballast right away. I'm definitely going to continue using Retrofit Source products from here on out!
One of the ball
One of the ballasts of my kit failed after a month of use.
However, Zach/Andrew were quick to get me setup running again. I have never experienced such responsive and awesome customer service.
I'm sure we all experienced great service BEFORE the purchase. These guys do it BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the sale. My warranty claim was answered quickly, shipped quickly and resolved quickly. This surpasses 5 star service...
Thanks ZACH and ANDREW!
The best custom
The best customer service ever, it's personalized. I bought the Morimoto H11 Elite Kit but I have to call for the order because I must get the H11B bulb due to Toyota "going against the grain" thing. Overall I'm happy with the result, after I installed the kit. Waiting for the XB35 bulb to be available on the website before I order the mini H1 or D2s complete retrofit kit.
Bought an H11 6
Bought an H11 6000K kit for the fogs on my IS-F.
Matches the 5000k bulbs in the projectors as low beams.
The relay kit is awesome. No false starts, tiny ballasts makes it easier to hide/mount it.
Bulbs take a while to warm up to true color though. Sits in a blu-ish mode for about 30 seconds.
Just put a 35w
Just put a 35w 5k kit on a 2013 Altima, greatly improved visibility. The h11 bulbs are so dim, now the lights are brighter but the oem projectors aren't that great but that's Nissan's issue not TRS/Morimoto. The ballasts feel SOLID, that's what immediately jumped out to me, their construction. Warm up time is about the same as other aftermarket kits. They are incredibly silent too. For whatever reason I needed to run the HD harness because without them the ballasts would not fire. Not sure if the ballast require it or if the Altima's electrical system simply doesn't supply the initial power to turn them on. I will purchase more kits off TRS once my old Banbo kits finally take a dump in my other cars.
First thank you
First thank you Matt and Zach for your help. I have bought two of the h11 hid kits for the 2014 Mazda 6. By far the best kits i have ever owned. They are at full light output in about 10sec and you do not get the dumb blue look. They are white as can be. You get for what you pay for...
The old saying
The old saying "you get what you paid for" is often understated and forgotten, especially in the world of HID lighting. Like others have stated, I have bought numerous cheap HID kits that had very poor color rendition and brightness. My last set of HID lights was supposed to be 5000K in color, but when I got them they were closer to 8000K. In addition the bulbs were so poorly fitted and made that when I turned them on, the lighting was so uneven that I switched back to my standard halogens. However I'm so glad that I found the retrofit source. Yes the kits are more expensive than the cheap ebay ones, but they are so worth it. Upon opening the box, the HID kit oozes of quality. Everything felt substantial and well engineered unlike the cheap kits in which felt like something cobbled up with scraps on the floor. It took about an hour to install the lights in my truck, but when I switched on the lights, I was blown away. At last, I finally got an HID kit that was truly 5000k and not some cheap imitation. The quality of this kit can be seen through the light output and the clean beam patterns. Unlike my last set in which had uneven lighting, this was very uniform and bright.
I am so impressed with the quality of this kit that I already know that a projector retrofit from TRS in is my future.
If you are look
If you are looking for a true 4300K hid kit equivalent to the BMW, Mercedes and Lexus xenons look no further. The Retrofit source is the place you want to buy high quality kits unlike them cheap Chinese hids you see on ebay and online claiming 4300K kelvin but you get cheesy blue color. The Morimoto Elite system I am using is very high quality well made. I highly recommend buying your lights here if you are serious and don't want to waste any time or money.
When I first re
When I first received the kit I was blown away by the quality of the components, the installation was easy and straight forward , the best feature is the warranty, after 3 months of installation one of the ballast went out ( I was very surprised because of the high quality of the components). within 4 days I had a replacement , no questions ask. Killer customer service.
