Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the Reviews and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
Optioned Out: With a variety of available options, this Morimoto Elite H1 HID kit can be configured perfectly just for you. This helpful video goes over each of the options shown above.
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto’s engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today’s most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don’t think it can really get any better!
H1 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight…and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto’s harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 H1 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven’t made a decision just yet, keep reading!

I've only had them installed for a couple weeks. So far, great light kit. I switched from a DDM kit that had a bulb go out after only 1 year. The Morimotos are much brighter and truer to color range. They warm up quick, to the point where worrying about warm up time is laughable. This kit came with the relay harness which seems to be pretty high quality. The length of shorter wires in the harness limits your install options, which could be trouble in a crowded engine bay, but definitely doable. Can't speak to longevity yet, obviously.
Great quality as usual, reliable for the most part. I have bought several kits from TRS in the past. I was displeased to find out that my current purchase did not come with ballast brackets. All other kits I have bought from TRS at least came with a basic ballast bracket hence the 4 star review.
I ordered these for my 2003 Acura RSX. For any Honda if you purchase these you WILL need to purchase "HID adapter" from Amazon. It is made to support your hid bulb inside the headlight, without it your hid will just fall out of the headlight. I really wish this company sold them with the package. These lights are BRIGHT, nice color. The quality of everything looked and felt good. Badside is the harness is all connected so it made it a little difficult to find a place for everything in my small engine bay. I would give 5 stars but because I had to purchase and find the hid adapter elsewhere and would have been nice to know before purchase the lights by themselves won't work.
It never failed, cheap HID bulb or ballast from amazon or ebay would stop working and I would just keep reordering the same cheap junk. I heard about TRS while searching HID forums looking for the best kit and came across the Morimoto Elite kit. I ordered the H1 55W kit and wished for the best. My order was shipped quickly and received it very fast. After an extremely easy install, THE RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! Incredible light output! I will never buy cheap bulbs or ballasts again. And if you have any problems during install, give TRS a call. They're very knowledgeable and they WANT to solve your problem. Wish I had found TRS earlier!
I have had the H1 Morimoto HID kit 6500 k for almost 3 years now. This kit is unbelievably bright for only being 35 Watts. Paired with the Morimoto projectors this kit gives you an amazing field of view and very far penetration when high beams are engaged. They have a beautiful pure white color & just a smidge of blue at the cut off line which pairs nicely with my Morimoto DRLs. I do a TON of night time driving, and I've only had an issue with an igniter and one ballast, however TRS did not hesitate to send me new parts to get me back on the road. Best kit & best company out there hands down!
I bought an XB55 and it is very impressive. Amazing light output and quality components. A breeze to install as well
It destroys the cheap junk ebay faux 55w HID kits I've tried and beats the 35w factory HID in my other car too and it has Osram CBI bulbs
Not only a great product but top service from TRS support and my whole order arrived in great packaging, it was a real treat to open it all up...just like Christmas!
I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and anyone who knows JK's know their stock halogen headlights are literally candles. Before I decided to go with HIDs I tried halogen upgrades and LEDs but found neither to be satisfactory since their beam output were either too scattered or too narrow.
This kit blows all of the above out of the water. I did a MH1 retrofit in my OEM JK housings and it worked great! I had to make a custom order through TRS since they don't have the Mopar Spec H13 harness as an option in the dropdown menu for some reason - maybe they will add it in.
There were a couple of connectors with loose retaining clips but doesn't seem to affect the electrical connection. All plugged up and worked perfectly.
Also wanted to note that I had some technical questions for the TRS team and they answered them all in detail. Great customer service guys!
If you're here you've probably owned a set of eBay plug and play hid's. You know where one bulb is sort of white, and the other kind of pink. Stop wasting your money on that junk. There is a huge difference. These 35w kits put out more light than their 55w. The bulb colors are correct, and I can here radio stations again. Everything is built to last, and comes with a REAL warranty. Worth every penny.
I was bit tentative about buying an HID system for this price considering you can get them for around 50 bucks on ebay now a days. As soon you open the box you can tell its not your average kit from ebay. Everything its nice and has a good quality look about it. And a nice quality look is not everything as soon as you plug it in your going to be amaze its day and night difference. I definitely recommend paying extra cause its well worth it, and to top it off TRS has some of the best customer service. ” — David
This HID system is one of the best out there! I haven't had much problems with it at all and it works perfectly and light output is great! Would recommend them to anyone
