INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS
The King: It wasn't long ago that the XV2 from Philips was the brightest bulb on the market. No More! The all-new Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S has taken the rank and recently tested to be the BRIGHTEST HID bulb currently on the market. Check out the Comparison Video we recently did on em, where Osram took the lead by about 20 lux.
"Laser": What makes these Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S so amazing? The old Osram XNB (standard Night Breaker) was touted to have "Up to 70% more light output" compared to a standard bulb. The XNL Laser? 200%! Thanks to the most modern technology and some crafty physical changes Osram made to the focal position of these Xenarc 66240 bulbs, they've really pulled out the stops on low beam performance!
Audience: So you're considering a fresh set of bulbs, are you? Well if you A) don't mind the price, B) want the brightest possible option, and C) don't really care much about cooler color temps in the 5-6000K range, then the Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S are right for you. Put differently: These Xenarc 66240 bulbs are for the dude who's serious about driving in all-weather conditions, doesn't give a shit about looking "cool", and only buys the best parts for their car.
Backed: Bottom line? We've always been Osram fan boys here at TRS, they've continued to up the performance from their product line every year, and as annoying as it is to continually update the catalog, we're blown away by the bump in output every time. Our hats are also off to Osram for maintaining focus on improving HID bulb tech even though it's technically "old news" by today's OEM standards. HID is King, and Osram is the King of HID.
Genuine: The Retrofit Source is proud to offer these Xenarc 66240 bulbs in their original retail packaging from Osram. We pride ourselves on being one of the last few distributors shipping genuine Philips & Osram lamps in the US. It is estimated that 80% of the Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S bulbs sold through outlets such as eBay or Amazon are fakes.

Long lasting Night Vision
by Delwyn
Just bought my 2nd pair of Night Vision bulbs for my 06 Infiniti M35x. 1st set lasted 9 years!!! Hope to get that on my 2nd set.
Excellent Output
by Joshua -
These replaced the OEM bulbs in my 2007 Acura RDX. Light output OEM was great, these are even better. The color temperature is perfect. This coupled with a renewal of my headlight lenses, they pair amazing with the OEM Projectors and the cutoff is sharp and output is great in all of the right part of the beam.
Awesome

It's like the popular CBI but with a warmer colour and slightly higher output. Really helps with seeing colours/contrast at night and it's less eye strain than a higher colour temp bulb.
Warm white light, very much like an OEM look with higher output.
Better then stock
by Joseph
Incredible light output with the nightbreakers. I don't even need to use my fog lights when it is foggy, raining out, they light up the entire area. Best HID's I have ever seen, worth the money. Replaced my stock HID's on my Acura TL.
Excellent Output!
by Haroon
Worth the extra, after using CBI's for a year, I felt I was losing output and needed something a bit brighter. The CBI's looked fantastic however from a performance stand point, the Nightbreakers were literally a night and day difference. When I switched to the Nightbreakers, I instantly felt a difference, the beam was much brighter and yes there was some yellow'ness in the light pattern, the output was still far superior to that of the CBI's. If you want to upgrade purely based on aesthetics then get the CBI's, for output performance upgrade it is worth the extra to upgrade to the Nightbreakers.
Osram 66240XNB = Two thumbs up
by Jonah
I have been using different bulbs in my retrofits since 2007 and these are by far the best bulbs I've used. They are very bright; white with a hint of yellow. Its not nearly as yellow as the 85122+ and looking at the projector it is white whereas the 85122+ looks yellow. On the road, no matter the weather, these cut through the darkness/elements much better than any of the bulbs I've used before. I'll be buying another set for my other car.
great bulb

they are very bright but I think you really need the 50w ballast to see the difference
Very pleased!
by Howard Lambert
At the age of 67 my night vision is very far from its prime. I had some problems with the harshness of the 5500 - 6000 kelvin bulbs. I took a chance on these and I am VERY impressed. The harshness of the white foreground is significantly reduced yet the distance I can see is greater than before. Quite an expense over the other bulbs but very well worth it. THESE ARE KEEPERS!
The Best!

I replaced my Philips 85122 with the NBs, and there is definitely a difference. These are brighter and have a better beam pattern. They are about the same color wise, but I expect them to get a little whiter (they started out very yellow). Overall I'm very satisfied. If you like the cool white look/appearance, these are not for you, but if you want performance, you won't regret buying the NightBreakers!
Way better than OEM
by Jeffrey Wright
They have to somewhat better distance/lumen that the OEMs, simply because I get brighted by cars coming toward far more often since the switch. I do a lot of distance driving and I could see a bit farther than before. Color of the light wish it was a slight higher K other wise very happy with the switch, minus having to take off the bumper to get at passenger one on 13 Acura TL.
