The Best: Over 5 years ago, Philips released the 85122+, and as great of a bulb as it is - it's old news now that Osram's latest 4200K competitor, the 66240 Nightbreaker is on the scene. With a similar 4300K output but considerably more intensity - if you don't mind the price, you'll surely be satisfied with the extra performance!
Brightest: What makes them so amazing? Osram touts their Nightbreaker D2S bulbs as having "up to 70% more light" output compared to traditional OEM D2S bulbs. How this is possible we have no clue, but what we can tell you is that they're bright, really, really bright. A technical marvel indeed!
Backed: Bottom line? Everybody who uses them agrees they're among the best D2S bulbs ever made. We've never heard a customer complain that their Osram's weren't worth the money, and most of the guys here at TRS use these or the CBI in our own vehicles.

I replaced my Philips 85122 with the NBs, and there is definitely a difference. These are brighter and have a better beam pattern. They are about the same color wise, but I expect them to get a little whiter (they started out very yellow). Overall I'm very satisfied. If you like the cool white look/appearance, these are not for you, but if you want performance, you won't regret buying the NightBreakers!
Worth the extra, after using CBI's for a year, I felt I was losing output and needed something a bit brighter. The CBI's looked fantastic however from a performance stand point, the Nightbreakers were literally a night and day difference. When I switched to the Nightbreakers, I instantly felt a difference, the beam was much brighter and yes there was some yellow'ness in the light pattern, the output was still far superior to that of the CBI's. If you want to upgrade purely based on aesthetics then get the CBI's, for output performance upgrade it is worth the extra to upgrade to the Nightbreakers.
I have been using different bulbs in my retrofits since 2007 and these are by far the best bulbs I've used. They are very bright; white with a hint of yellow. Its not nearly as yellow as the 85122+ and looking at the projector it is white whereas the 85122+ looks yellow. On the road, no matter the weather, these cut through the darkness/elements much better than any of the bulbs I've used before. I'll be buying another set for my other car.
Incredible light output with the nightbreakers. I don't even need to use my fog lights when it is foggy, raining out, they light up the entire area. Best HID's I have ever seen, worth the money. Replaced my stock HID's on my Acura TL.
It's like the popular CBI but with a warmer colour and slightly higher output. Really helps with seeing colours/contrast at night and it's less eye strain than a higher colour temp bulb.
Warm white light, very much like an OEM look with higher output.
