Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the Reviews and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
Optioned Out: With a variety of available options, the Morimoto Elite HID system can be configured perfectly just for you. This helpful video goes over each of the options shown above.
HID Ballasts: Morimoto’s XB ballasts are a functional work of art. While the industrial-edge design by California native Artur Saakyan looks great from the outside, they’re packed with too much modern tech on the inside to cover it all in on place. Their DSP 3.0 circuit maximizes reliability, input and output efficiency. Their ability to warm the bulbs up to full operating intensity quickly is matched by few. Hardly are all aftermarket-HID ballasts the same, and the XB’s make that clear in most every category in our opinion.
H7 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight…and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto’s harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 kits have 3 year warranty]

Installed a 35w 5500k hid kit with the canbus wire harness. Looks great, easy install. Big upgrade over the stock halogens.
The Morimoto H7 Elite kit is top quality. Harness connectors are nice and connections are secure. Very clean professional kit. Highly recommend.
These HID System are so amazing! I was so close to buying DDM tuning again after my HID from DDM finally died 5 years from now but I didnt like the quality and vision. So I give TRS a shot. MAAAAN these systems are worth a buy. I'll buy another one for my fiance's xB and future refers.
2011 bmw 528i. I purchased a kit from another source a while ago, it was cheaper but figured how bad can it be. Turned out that it refused to work even with the anti-flicker. I learned a lesson, go with the best. My H7 kit with canbus works flawlessly from the moment of install, no issues, no errors, no flicker.
!!***Warning***!! I have a "2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited" and the H7 HID bulb out of the box will not fit properly in the 2011-2014 sonata headlight housing!! If you do nothing, the "return wire" bar will cause a shadow on the roadway. YOU WILL NEED to modify the H7 bulb and create your own tab. After the mod, the return wire bar will be facing down in the same direction as the new modified tab. Out of the box, the return wire is facing up and the oem tab is facing down.
I've been with TRS since early 2014 with many different vehicles and nothing but good experiences ever since. I have tried (old verision)
>>4300k (white with yellow hue)<<
>>5000k (white and in some cases white/blue depending on the road type)<<
>>6000k (blue with white hue)<<
and found out the 5000k was the best fit for me. So I bought 5k for my low beam and fog light. 5k was an amazing white color and truly overpowered other cars headlights on the road. It was like they didn't even have lights on. Long story but I had to get new low beam bulbs; however, the bulbs are now 5500k. When I installed the bulbs, the color was very green-ish. I was told the 5500k bulbs need to break in (40-60 hours) and the green will go away however because of the greenish/white color low beam and white fog light. I just bought 5500k fog lights and they match up amazingly!! There still is a green hue but I hate the yellow color of OEM and even the 4300k. So the 5500k is the still the best option for me. I did try a competitor but lets just say it did't go very well. I don't know what I ever doubted TRS!! I came crawling back! Haha. :-)
Very happy with the quality and ease of installation of the H7 Morimoto Elite HID system on my 2009 Mercedes C-Class C180 Kompressor.
I carried out a self installation which took about 1 hours, and although I'm not used to carrying out DIY stuff on a regular basis, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to install. The hardest part was actually getting out my existing bulbs due to the clamps which hold down the low beam projector bulbs. I found a Youtube video to help me out what that.
The installation itself included setting up the wiring, installing the bulbs, placing and securing the blasts, and connecting them all together. The instructions were pretty straight forward.
The system I purchased and installed was the 35W version with 5500K bulbs. The color appears to be true white as indicated and provides a definitive sharpness and clarity on the road through the crystal white color output. The light output is not over powering, yet it disperses evenly and far enough through the projector lamp. Also, on-coming traffic does not seem to be affected as I have not had anyone flash their high beams yet. Rather, the lights seem to turn a lot of heads on the road, and once in a while a car will slow down to get a better look :)
When I first tested the system I noticed a slight flickering in the light output and decided to add the Canbus which was supplied with the system. This stopped the flickering all together.
I have received No Errors on my dash either with or without the Canbus. The system has been running on my Mercedes for about 5 weeks now and have no issues to report :)
Everyone at TRS always does their best to make sure your happy. I picked this up after a bad set was replaced and had some issues with a relay. TRS made sure to do whatever they could to help resolve the issue. The best! U wont go wrong with these but I think some folks might want it to be a tad brighter, go with the 55w but careful dont blind folks! ;] Happy new year 2016
Just finished the install on my 2011 Chevy Cruze and what a difference! The H7 HIDs completely changed the look of the car. These bulbs are bright and look great!!
Installing this kit was super easy!
Take a look at my install write up: http://www.cruzetalk.com/forum/145-appearance-body-tutorials/143826-morimoto-hid-install-picture-heavy.html
Installation was fairly straightforward, took less than an hour.
I have aftermarket projector headlamps (not Spyder) and the light output was quite satisfying with halogens in them. Since having HIDs before, I knew I'd eventually go back to them, and surprisingly enough these perform outstandingly well even though the projector was designed for halogens.
I still have the center hotspot as I should, still a very visible and colorful "step" in the center, so bulb position is on par with the halogens (somehow). Light distribution is just as even as before, if not more-so. Obviously my light output could be much better with a retrofitted projector, but I don't have the money for that right now and I'm satisfied with how it looks.
Thanks TRS for yet another amazing product!
I had been thinking for a long time and finally ordered H7 HID from TRS to fit in to Skoda - VW, Octavia Car. As explained, it was fairly simple process to install. And then I had the issue with the left bulb switched off in couple seconds of it been fired on. I tried troubleshooting it but it didn't work and finally had to write to TRS. What stands out is, TRS immediately asked for the return procedure to be followed and then I figured the issue with the bulb. It didn't have enough power from the stock plug and hence was switching off. Its amazing the way my issue was considered and whats even better is the lights on the road. It took only 30 mins to install and they bead the stock headlights by a greater margin. Great value for money.
