Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the Reviews and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
Optioned Out: With a variety of available options, the Morimoto Elite HID system can be configured perfectly just for you. This helpful video goes over each of the options shown above.
HID Ballasts: Morimoto’s XB ballasts are a functional work of art. While the industrial-edge design by California native Artur Saakyan looks great from the outside, they’re packed with too much modern tech on the inside to cover it all in on place. Their DSP 3.0 circuit maximizes reliability, input and output efficiency. Their ability to warm the bulbs up to full operating intensity quickly is matched by few. Hardly are all aftermarket-HID ballasts the same, and the XB’s make that clear in most every category in our opinion.
H1 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight…and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto’s harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 kits have 3 year warranty]

I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and anyone who knows JK's know their stock halogen headlights are literally candles. Before I decided to go with HIDs I tried halogen upgrades and LEDs but found neither to be satisfactory since their beam output were either too scattered or too narrow.
This kit blows all of the above out of the water. I did a MH1 retrofit in my OEM JK housings and it worked great! I had to make a custom order through TRS since they don't have the Mopar Spec H13 harness as an option in the dropdown menu for some reason - maybe they will add it in.
There were a couple of connectors with loose retaining clips but doesn't seem to affect the electrical connection. All plugged up and worked perfectly.
Also wanted to note that I had some technical questions for the TRS team and they answered them all in detail. Great customer service guys!
If you're here you've probably owned a set of eBay plug and play hid's. You know where one bulb is sort of white, and the other kind of pink. Stop wasting your money on that junk. There is a huge difference. These 35w kits put out more light than their 55w. The bulb colors are correct, and I can here radio stations again. Everything is built to last, and comes with a REAL warranty. Worth every penny.
I was bit tentative about buying an HID system for this price considering you can get them for around 50 bucks on ebay now a days. As soon you open the box you can tell its not your average kit from ebay. Everything its nice and has a good quality look about it. And a nice quality look is not everything as soon as you plug it in your going to be amaze its day and night difference. I definitely recommend paying extra cause its well worth it, and to top it off TRS has some of the best customer service. ” — David
This HID system is one of the best out there! I haven't had much problems with it at all and it works perfectly and light output is great! Would recommend them to anyone
A little background: I purchased a set of projectors for my 13 F150. They came with dim, yellow, cheap H1 halogens. Daytime look was GREAT. Night was terrible. It was like two little candles in those things. I purchased the TRS 5500K 35W H1 kit with the motocontrol for the H13 harness on the truck. Man, what a difference! Warm up time is fast too!! It took me about 3 hours to do this job, only because I had to remove old wiring from the housings before doing the actual install. But, it was simple, and to the point. Keep up the good job guys!
I decided to build my first set of headlights, I was doing a budget build. Got all my parts from trs. I originally got a cheap set of hids from ebay, yes they were cheaper but were not as bright as i intended, and every other day one wouldn't work. I eventually got this kit from trs and I never know how much of a difference there would be. These hids look to be constructed better than any other set I have ever seen. The ballasts are really thin so its much easy to find a spot for them. After getting this set I will never cheep out again.
Currently on my second set of Morimoto HIDs. The first set had a bit of trouble, but was still far more reliable than cheaper kits. I was having some misfires on one of the sides while using the supplied harness, but TRS was quick to honor the warantee and ship out a replacement ballast for the failed side. Purchased a new set last week because I was having some misfires again on the replacement side, and this gave me an excuse to upgrade to the newer XB35 and XB bulbs. The installation of the new set was much cleaner, using the standalone CANBUS harness instead of the standard harness. The additional mounting points on the ballast bracket allow more options for mounting locations, but since there is no longer a center hole like in the previous 3Five ballast, It became a little awkward to mount using the same holes I had previously drilled.
Overall, ht Morimoto system has been far superior to the cheap kits from DDM and the like. I gave it 4 stars, only because one of my ballasts did experience some misfires, especially in the cold weather.
I have recently purchased 55W 4500K version. Installed it on the high beam section. It is very bright, colour is accurate, the build quality is the best and 3 years warranty. I am really impressed and satisfied.
I used Philips, P8, But this one is the best.
Good Job Morimoto, keep it on.
Bought H1 kit with 9007 connectors, was very easy plug and play. Like literally plug and play unlike most of the other things you see that say that. I love them, they work great, and improve my visibility 10 fold. If I have to buy another car, I will get another kit from these guys for sure.
