Since the igniter cord can be unplugged from the ballast, you can easily change from AMP to D2S or Vice Versa. (without the use of unreliable adapters, that is) Likewise, if an igniter does happen to go bad, it can easily be replaced.
Fast, Friendly and Efficient: Power hungry ballasts never work well with tricky CanBus systems, but the new XB55 ballast consume < 5A on ignition without compromising their reasonably quick warm up speed. That's much less than Denso, Mitsubishi, FastBright, and the old Morimoto too, which makes their ability to reach full intensity a more efficient process.
Quiet: Like all modern OEM D1 and D2 ballasts: the XB has relocated igniters far closer to the HID bulb. The lack of high voltage transmitted through wiring drastically reduces EMI/RFI (radio interference). Total system reliability is also improved by shielding the main circuit board from the static produced by these high voltage bursts on start up.
Reliable and Smart: The XB55 ballasts are designed to last for 2500 hours and there's not much that will stand in their way. The matured DSP 2.0 software recognizes outside system faults such as a loose high voltage connection, and after one misfire will cut power rather than potentially self-destruct.

I had to order these as an updated replacement for my previous system and these are smaller and slimmer then the older ones from TRS. They start up right away every time and I have not had any issues at all with them. I would recommend these!
I purchased these ballasts with a whole setup in April 2016. They have been super bright and solid all around. Up until 1 month ago I was super happy with them. I noticed that one of my headlights wasn't working. After troubleshooting I realized that my ballast had gone out. I would have turn my headlights on and off one or twice to get the headlight to start working again. Overtime the problem began to get worse. After a month I couldn't get it to turn on anymore. I am currently looking for another one just like this. The other ballast works great. It's probably just a defect ballast. I am definitely going to continue using this part though.
Slim style ballast with plenty of power and has professional wrapping around cables with oem style connections. So far these warm up about 10sec to full which is good, their are quicker ballasts out there but those quick firing ones hurt your bulb life! These are metal strong made ballasts with a good warranty. Good metal mounting options or space on back to put some 3M.
Fit and finish is great, mounting brackets offer lots of options, and it strikes a perfect combo between efficiency and warm up time.
My headlights are at or near full brightness within 10 seconds, and I have verified on the bench using a programmable power supply that transient startup currents never exceed just north of 6A, allowing many to install without a relay harness. Relays are always recommended of course, but none the less.
They also both settle out at 4.9A @ 12.6V after just 3-4 seconds, meaning these are actually pulling 60W from the car's system, which after efficiency losses (based on how hot it gets) translates to right at 55W at the bulb - exactly as advertised!
I have zero regrets! I love them!
