Elite: Take a matched set of Morimoto bulbs and ballasts, add in a top-of-the-line wire relay harness, and you have yourself the makings of one of the best 9012 HID replacement kits on the market. Seeing really is believing, and we’ve certainly seen enough of these fly off the shelves in recent years to believe they hit the spot for do-it-yourselfers who see the value in spending on quality. If you’re ready to see the light, check out the Reviews and read on for more information.
Customizable: Whether you’re using it as a 9012 dual beam HID kit in a set of Bi-halogen projectors on your truck or a 9012 fog light HID kit, Morimoto Elite Systems can be configured to your unique application with the available options. Watch this educational video for an expert overview of each option available in the drop down menus above...and if you don't know, just feel free to ask us! We gotcha covered.
High Performance Ballasts: We’ve been impressed with Morimoto XB ballasts for years now, but the latest generation is on a whole new level. Sleek industry looks on the outside combines with state-of-the-art technology inside for a superior aftermarket option that’s worth a few extra bucks. You have the option of a 9012 HID kit with 50W or 35W ballasts depending on your application. No matter which ballast you choose, you’ll benefit from lightning fast warm-up times, microscopic failure rates, and ridiculously low power consumption.
9012 HID Bulbs: Precision alignment of 100% Philips Quartz glass and halide salts sourced from Germany is at the center of Morimoto’s amazing XB HID It’s going to take a long time for LED technology to catch up with these beauties, especially with Morimoto making them better and better with each new generation. The Morimoto 9012 HID kit has optional 3000K (golden amber), 4500K (warm white), 5500K (pure white), or 6500K (cool white) replacement bulbs. We tested these against industry-benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K, and the difference in luminosity was nearly imperceptible.
Wired Up: Booming Morimoto ballasts? Check! Ultra luminous HID bulbs? Check! Smart and durable wire relay harness? Lift off! The perfect complement to high performance auto lighting components is a wire harness that’s protected against the elements, offers plug-n-play functionality, and looks just like the OE product it’s replacing. A subpar harness can leave you hanging when you need it most. Morimoto hooks you up with a wire harness capable of proper power and signal delivery to ensure your newly installed HID system can live up to its potential.
No Bulb Out Warnings: Lets be honest — is there anything more annoying than a dashboard warning light, especially when it isn’t really alerting you to anything you don’t already know? Well you can avoid the “bulb out” signal that appears when you modify a vehicle that runs on a Canbus system by ordering the optional Standalone Canbus harness by Morimoto. Though it wont fix PWM issues, with these your car will never know you swapped out the original halogen lights, but you sure will when you witness the bright, focused beam your 9012 HID replacement kit supplies.
Product Guarantee: We have to laugh at some of the promises other online sources make when it comes to backing up their products. A “lifetime” warranty on something that everyone knows isn’t built to last a lifetime, really? Something smells funky there. We offer a 5-year warranty* on the Morimoto Elite 9012 HID conversion kit and all of its components, and we stand behind it with the best customer service and technical support in the industry. We've been around for over a decade and we’ll be there when you need us, and you can take that to the bank. [*XB55 kits have a 3-year warranty]
User Backed: Satisfied do-it-yourselfers are prone to showing off a job well done. We did a little search and found tons of examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) of successful installs to let you know what to expect when working with a Morimoto 9012 fog light HID kit or 9012 dual beam HID kit for your car or truck.
The Source: There’s peace of mind that comes with partnering with a company that’s spent the last decade building a proud reputation for offering the right combination of quality and value. TRS not only brings you the best selection of high performance automobile lighting products at the lowest prices, but we back it up with customer service from the most knowledgeable staff of lighting geeks you’re ever seen. Installation is easily described through instructions. However, suggestions for placement of HD relay and ballasts would be beneficial as there is little room in some vehicles. Gave it 4 stars as instructions were only online and did not come with 3M MOUNTING tabs, zip ties or test light like many competitors provide. Overall a good kit.
Bought this kit because TRS recommends it for my car, but the 9012 bulbs cause huge amounts of ground wire shadow. I cant really return the kit since I would only get 80% of my money back even tho the product was wrongly recommended. Aside from the wrong bulb type the rest of the kit is top notch. I have purchased many HID kits from TRS and even tho this purchase turned out to be a mistake I will keep giving them my business. On a side note I had a spare set of cheap 9006 Ebay bulbs laying around and they seem to work with little to no ground wire shadow. Might just be the projectors in my car and how the 9012 rotates in, but just my 2 cents!
Hi I ordered the item online while talking to costumer service and they recommend this hid kits but it causes ground wire shadow issue on 2016-2017 toyota rav4 because ground wire point up. I guess that's not really their fault though, and at that point, kit was used. I had to return item but didn't get full refund so got 80% refund. buy led profile peak for 2016-2017 toyota rav4.
I bought this kit for my wife 2014 Dodge Durango. While the install took me a little longer than I had planned due to the space constraints of the engine bay, I was able to get this kit installed and tested. I must say that going from stock to HID lighting is the way to go. The road is lit up so much better and my wife can see better at night when she is driving.
Performance a huge improvement over factory halogen bulbs. Beam characteristics and cutoff appear to remain the same, only brighter. Beam matches many factory HIDs, other than width. Performs better than F-150 factory hid. Has less width than Acura TL and TSX HID.
Capacitor link will cause flickering on a Volt. CANBUS itself isn't needed, but the parts in the CANBUS harness seem to do enough to prevent flickering without needing a relay. HD relay 9012 kit without cap-link should perform the best all around, but the CANBUS adapter does seem to work without needing to run relay wires.
Only thing I don't like is that the 4500K/most neutral color also has a blue tinted bulb. Perfectly clear glass is preferred.
I strongly recommend the Morimoto kit for Volts!
Similarly-priced competition has a whiter-than-halogen bulb, but halogen-levels of performance. I compared directly. I can't suggest the other kits available at the same price - TRS has the best.
I bought this to replace the HIR2 bulbs that come stock in a 2007 Nissan Maxima. What a difference it makes over the junk OEM halogen bulbs. I got this kit for my moms car and she was super impressed with the quality of the kit and light output! We went with the 4300k bulbs and 35w ballasts.
I was a little hesitant when first reading reviews and wondering if $150 was "too much" to spend on HID's but am I'm glad i did! Great upgrade over OEM bulbs that were 55w halogens, the light output from the 35w 5.5k is amazing. Crisp and clean white! Lights up the shoulder also, and the cutoff is nice and clean still with little light scatter for not being a "true" projector. It also fires up every time i start it up, no worries for me at all. Overall i have to say it was worth every penny and i love it! Would buy from again in the future!
Buy this Xenon for my 2015 Hyundai Tucson and change compared to the OEM has been amazing , I've been very satisfied with the quality and quantity of light provided .
I purchased these HIDs for my 2015 Scion TC and I could not be happier! The car comes stock with HIR2 bulbs so i definitely needed to upgrade. The install was quite simple despite the limited room in the TC, took me about an hour and a half. Being a combined low/high there is very little light scatter when using low beams, making this upgrade a no-brainer! I purchased 35w ballasts with 5500k bulbs, but it is not quite as white as I intended. I recommend 6500k if you want a very white light.
All in all, this is a great kit. Highly recommended!
I opted for the 9012 35w 5k system. Customer support was top notch, quick response. 5 stars to staff. 4 overal only because I ened up confused and bought the capacitor link which is not needed for the Canbus system. Slight flicker first couple startups, but so far no problems. Also would be nice if they offered Velco that they sell on the list with the carbon fiber brackets or offered it instead of the brackets. Installed in less than an hour without any real hassle. Bulb on one side was a little snug and worried about breaking, but both fit like a glove. No tabs to modify. Volt has little room to mount anything by the lights. I used industrial velco to mount so that I can place the wires and other parts tucked in near ballast. Although no real step-by step instructions, the nice harnesses are idiot proof. I did need to flip one to get polarity right as is typically 50/50 chance on GM cars wiring. Only other tip I can offer is that installation requires cutting the tabs and drilling a 1" hole in the dust covers. I used a Dremmel to cut tabs first. If you use snips, be careful as they are brittle. I cracked one trying this, luckily not to where I have to replace. Lights look nice and cant wait to see how they work in the fog as they provide much better light at night than the stock bulbs. Looking to install matching switchbacks for frount blinkers. Thank you TRS for your help!
