Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the Reviews and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
Optioned Out: With a variety of available options, the Morimoto Elite HID system can be configured perfectly just for you. This helpful video goes over each of the options shown above.
HID Ballasts: Morimoto’s XB ballasts are a functional work of art. While the industrial-edge design by California native Artur Saakyan looks great from the outside, they’re packed with too much modern tech on the inside to cover it all in on place. Their DSP 3.0 circuit maximizes reliability, input and output efficiency. Their ability to warm the bulbs up to full operating intensity quickly is matched by few. Hardly are all aftermarket-HID ballasts the same, and the XB’s make that clear in most every category in our opinion.
H13 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight…and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
MotoControl Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. The Morimoto MotoControl Bi-xenon Harness is easily worth the premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. With its triple-sealed smart relay, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality; it will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works from your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls. It’s easily the best headlight wire harness out there.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 kits have 3 year warranty]

Build our own projectors and added in the H13/9008 Elite kit. (MotoControl Bi-Xenon , ballasts, igintors, 6500k HID bulbs, labelled wire harass). Plug and play and place good grounding points and done. Amazing lights over stock. Will never go back to stock. The Morimoto HID is the way to go. Thanks - TRS. One small problem on the Morimoto Control module after 15 months, two pins become corroded and shut the module down. So ordered another, plugged in with dielectric grease on the pins and hung vertical and we are good to go. The Retrofit Source had my replacement part from Georgia to Southern Ontario Canada (International Shipping / Customs) in 8 days, very happy.
Had to say this is 100% plug and play, not modification or cutting harness, great quality harness compared to other kits I have used, Just had problem initially then found the rust in the input connector is the culprit, WD40 did the job.
Also to mention customer service is at peak, all questions answered promptly.
From the first moment you open the box you can tell this is a quality kit. I just put the 50w system in my f150 and the light output is incredible! My favorite part about this whole kit has to be how they label every cord for you do you know exactly where it goes. Thank y'all for great customer service and high quality products.
I purchased this kit for my 2013 GMC Yukon. I had considerable trouble having to re-pin the connector where it links up to the factory harness. The bright and low beam wires were backwards. I was given directions on how to re-pin the connector. I was not told I would have to do this when I purchased the kit. It was no where as easy as I would told it would be. There were no video directions or instructions of how to do it I ended up mutilating the pins and the harness connector. I had to get replacement parts from The Retrofit Source. Aside from that the kit was pretty good. I wish the lead wires and the positive cable were a little bit longer so they could be concealed easier. Lights are really bright with 5000K bulbs. Light is very white and lights up the road great.
This system is quality. If you're looking for the oem factory bright white color of 4300k , this is it...no doubt it's as advertised, "BRIGHT WHITE" like a stadium fixture. The bulbs, wiring, even the ballast and hardware are the best I've seen. Got it in my 2005 F250 superduty. Adds classy look, superior functionality and confidence on the road! Get it! Great customer service as well, Retrofit Source is the real deal.
MY wife haves depth perception issues while driving at night. So I upgraded the headlight in her Chevy Cruze to this kit. With the additional light output from the HID lights helps her see distant object at night without a struggle. I will upgrade every Vehicle from now on with a kit from the Retrofit Source without question from now on. Thanks for such a great product
***I bought a brand new 2014 Chevy Cruze which had 9008 factory bulbs. I read everyone's review on this setup and the overall satisfaction was great, so I took the chance and bought a set of 9008 3five 5000k and Love Them!!! After I adjusted the headlight beam downward so it wasn't pointed in peoples faces, it is the color I have been looking for. It's pure white color with a tint of a crystal-glassy-light blue intermixed with the white. A friend of mine has 6k and that setup is too blue for my taste. 5k is just right. Now I just need to buy H8 bulb setup with 5000k and I will have a matching set. I would guess the only downside of having HID bulbs in a not-projector headlight assym is that there are two defined headlight beams on the road. I previously owned a car that had oem hid so the car/headlight were programmed to not have defined beams and the light was spread out throughout the road.
***The difficult factory was small-to slight-medium. The factory bulbs were practically in your face with nothing in the way. No taking a battery out, no removing the bumper, nothing. However just the time it took to organize all of the cords, trying to find a location to place the ballasts, finding a good place to "ground" the kit onto the car.
***Overall, very satisfied with the 3five 5000K!
A little background is in order here.
Previous to purchasing this H13 bi-xenon kit here I had previously purchased a cheap kit somewhere else locally. It seems that I can only find cheap kit locally.
The kit that I bought locally was not bi-xenon & had a halogen high beam light. The bulb itself was ok but could have better designed as to it's location in the reflector housing of my 2010 Dodge grand caravan. The beam had a band of yellow light above the cut off of the low beam. This made it so I had to aim the lower than I really wanted to to prevent dazzling other drivers. The high beam lights on this kit were halogen & were totally worthless as when you turn on the high beams the HID bulb shut off & the halogen light shined up into the trees & not at all on the road.
The original ballasts that came with that kit were of the D.C. output type & as a result the output was low & off color temperature. The off color temperature was not a fault of the bulbs but of the ballast. When I hooked a better ballast up to them they were the proper color temperature for their rating.
There was no wiring harness that came with these & though they worked ok with the original ballasts. I had trouble with their more powerful "55watt" ballast not igniting the bulbs consistently so I made my own relayed wiring harness which did work but the problems with their "55watt" ballasts remained as the ballasts were faulty in that they still would not ignite the bulbs if the ballast was warm & it did not matter if the heat source was internal or external, anything over luke warm caused an issue.

The kit arrived on the scheduled time. The sales person that I talked with on the phone was friendly & even though I disagree on some things we talked about they were not critical points.
The Morimoto 3five ballasts are in a word absolutely excellent. They were reliable & would ignite the bulbs under any condition that I tested them in. Their power & color temperature which is in part a function of the ballast providing the correct type & amount of power was spot on. Correct type output being A.C. output instead of D.C. output that some cheap ballasts produce including the ones that originally came with the cheap kit that I purchased locally.
The Morimoto H13 bi-xenon bulbs are also very good. The beam pattern was much closer to the stock halogen bulbs that came with the car. There was still a slight yellow ban above the cut off of the low beam but much narrower than on the cheap HID kit's bulbs. While this was not absolutely perfect, it was more than acceptable as now I could aim them slightly higher without dazzling other drivers. This yellow band does not come from the bulb but from the back side of the hood that is inside the reflector. Correct positioning of the capsule or filament in the case of a halogen bulb hides this yellow band.
High beam on this bulb is excellent with good distance lighting up about 1/4 mile brightly without being over bright in the near field. There is adequate light beyond 1/4 mile out to about 1/2 mile. This is in large part due to the reflector housing not really being setup for great throw but for good width of beam even on high beam. Color temperature of the bulb output looked to be spot on with no hint of blue or yellow from the bulb itself.
The motocontrol harness is superb. connections are of high quality & there is an abrasion resistant cover over the wiring to protect the wiring. Even though I have a Chrysler product my car did not require the chrysler specific harness as this car does not have the canbus system that detects bulbs that are out. I did need to add a capacitor though to prevent the solinoids on the H13 bulbs from buzzing on high beam only.
After doing lots of research on TRS's site, I decided to purchase the 9008/H13 HID system. I had a few tech questions when I ordered. The staff explained every question thoroughly, and even offered alternate solutions. Install went as planned, and was very strait forward. You can download directions for instal from TRS's site, but there's really no need. The only part I would change would be making the harness about a foot longer, but it works fine as is. The change was incredible. I chose 55 watt ballasts with 5000k bulbs. It's a pure white light that's super bright. I installed in a 2012 Ford Raptor, and wanted to keep the stock headlights. I'm very impressed with the HID system, and with TRS's customer service and tech.
i bought these for my girlfriends 2011 chevy cruze, install was very easy and didnt take long at all. I ordered 5k. I didnt have to do ANY modification to the relay harness for highbeam function which was great. Everything is labled with great quality parts and supplied with everything you need for install. Highly reccomend!
