High Ranking: For years now, Morimoto's Mini H1 Stage III complete universal retrofit bi-xenon projector kit has been our most popular setup on the site. Not only are these Morimoto projectors the easiest to install, but due to the compact size of the Mini H1 projectors, it's the most universal - fitting in most every application. While Morimoto continues to enhance the performance of their Mini H1 with each new generation, it's also now one of the best performing bi-xenon projector kits in the catalog too.

Morimoto Bi-Xenon Projectors: Morimoto's new Mini H1 7.0, was an instant winner upon launch. Representing the first full overhaul of the Mini H1 since their launch, the Bi-Xenon Projectors are one of the most advanced headlight projectors in the world today. Revised optics paired with a cast-curved cutoff shield produces one of the widest low beam patterns we've ever seen, and a high beam that will easily go the distance. Kuria Optic clear lenses maximize intensity throughout, and keep the cutoff line sharp, colorful, and attractive. New side-action solenoids are more than 3x stronger than the old and fussy vertically-sprung units. Result: Maximum light on the ground, zero glare to oncoming traffic.

Shrouds: Basically, they're the trim piece that adds the finishing touch to your new headlight retrofit. They cover the projector after it's installed to restore the factory-finished look inside the housings. With so many different shapes, sizes, and designs available, we really recommend picking one that suits the geometry inside of your headlights, and also your personal preference on how they look. Check out all of the projector shroud options we offer and take your pick!

HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!

H1 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.

Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.

Optional Precision Bulb Holders: Designed by Morimoto in California, the new MotoHo1der utilizes a three-piece design that's way more effective but virtually no bigger overall than the old clip setup. The clever three-piece design provides even pressure on the back of the bulb, ensuring perfect alignment. To be honest, we think it's the single best upgrade to the projector that's ever been conceived since it helps make the most of the awesome 7.0's on the road. Well worth the extra few bucks in the grand scheme of things!

Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling bulb out warnings.

Optional LED Halos: Though LED halos may not be for everybody, if you're looking for the cleanest, most simple, most reliable setup, we highly recommend the Profile Performance Pivot Halos. Not only are they the brightest, most uniformly lit halos currently on the market, but they double as a switchback turn signal with your blinker circuit. The integrated controllers are extremely easy to setup with only three wires (white, amber, and ground) and allow you to run the white mode continuously until interrupted by the signal--at which point they will blink amber. Once the signal stops, the Pivot ring will automatically switch back to its pure white mode.

Optional Housing Sealant: Protection is priceless! When you're putting together a set of high-end headlights, the last thing you want is moisture in 'em the first time it rains outside. RetroRubber is the most effective way to make sure the original seal is fully restored. For the small price, why anybody wouldn't prevent their new headlights from fogging up is beyond us. It'll be the best twelve bucks you've ever spent.

The perfect retrofit kit

Andrew Reviewed: 7/22/2016 1:11:46 am

I purchased the Mini H1 retrofit kit for my 2005 Mercedes C230 and couldn't be more pleased!! I decided on the Mini H1 over the D2S due to the size of the projector. I went with the mini gatling shrouds and the 4500k bulbs. The install couldn't have been any easier since there are plenty of guides available on the website. The shipping was to my front door in no time. I had an issue with one of the ballasts and the warranty process was simple and had a replacement right away. For the price and quality, you absolutely can not go wrong!

TRS has done it again

David Reviewed: 1/15/2015 12:20:04 am

I've purchased 5 kits from TRS over the years and helped numerous other friends out with their retro's and I just have to say that once again TRS customer service comes through. After helping a friend with his retro on his 2001 Tacoma, we were very happy with the quality and output from the projectors and the XB35 bulbs. But after about a month of use, the passenger side bulb went out. We narrowed it down to a faulty ballast (after swapping bulbs and ballasts) and TRS replaced the faulty ballast under warranty in record time. Thanks again for the best customer service in the business and an awesome product.

Will never have a car without retrofit kit

Leonardo Reviewed: 12/1/2014 4:07:16 am

Almost two years with this retrofit kit on my 03 Subaru Forester and is the best investment on my car yet. The before and after luminosity is incredible and the car looks changed as I never imagined. If I ever have a car with no HID lighting, a TRS retrofit kit will be my first purchase.

Unreal! worth every penny

Andrew Reviewed: 7/22/2015 1:16:39 am

Packaging was very nice. Everything comes very neat and labeled clearly. Everything is very straight forward. Light output is way way better. I picked 5500k bulbs. Also have switchback halos behind my shrouds. Tapping them into power etc takes a bit but all is good and works well. Very bright signal and white lite from the switchback xsb. The mini h1 fits very nice in my titan low beam had to trim the shroud slightly (Apollo 3.0) other than that everything is excellent

Worth every penny!

Let's just start with saying I've been eyeing TRS for a long time, always wanting to do a retrofit but never had a reason. My wife purchased a 2009 Chevy Cobalt last year and after a cross country, 8000 mile road trip, we decided her headlights were basically useless. The way the reflector housing were designed just couldn't throw light near or far effectively.

I showed her the reviews and the pictures of this kit, and we agreed that since she owned her car and wanted to keep it a while, it would be worth the investment.

Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the packaging, Seems silly, but every item was packaged individually all the way down to the bulb itself. (Uncommon with HID bulbs)

After splitting the headlight open, we started the grinding. It took a decent amount of shaping to get it where we wanted. Once the projectors were in, we installed the housings in the car without the lenses to make sure the cutoff was horizontal with the ground. When we turned them on to do so, we were blown away. The brightness, the cutoff, the perfection.

Once they were straight, we installed the lenses and did the final touches and reinstalled the lights in the car. (also added the ACME switchbacks and HD Resistors, both are equally of quality)

The the road test began. I have driven MANY cars working at a car dealership, but none (not HID, LED, or Halogen) compared with the light output and cutoff. Prefect white (5500k, 35w), perfect cutoff, and sharp appearance in the car itself.

Overall, I recommended these to ANYONE looking for improvement on the road and being able to see at night.

Wow... just wow!

I installed my retro kit into my stock 2003 Civic coupe housings and let me say, they rock! The install itself was just as simple as The Retrofit Source says it is; the hardest part is working within the confines of your vehicle. The lighting itself is vastly improved from stock, the bi-xenon high beam system functions wonderfully, and the halos completely change my ride into something all its own.

Harness/ballasts (9003/35W): The wiring is pretty straightforward, the biggest problem was finding enough free grounding points. I have an aftermarket intake, so luckily I had a few spaces to spare. Mounting brackets are included for the ballasts but I didn't really need them... there's a solution for just about anything here. The wiring itself is definitely long enough for most applications. I never worried about overstretching it. The relay looks cool too!

Projectors/bulbs(H1/XB35): The projectors themselves are pretty cool! They shine more brightly than my old xenon lights and the cutoff and flicker are definitely obvious. The brights are REALLY cool too; they're bright as heck and really surprise my friends when I show them off! Installation was a breeze once I cracked my housings open and removed the old stuff.

Shrouds (Mini-Graphite): The shrouds look great. I had to do a little cutting on these particular shrouds in order to fit the LED rings inside (a fact not mentioned on this site) but it wasn't anything a dremel couldn't accomplish. They look like nothing else I've ever seen, and I mean that in a good way!

Halos (amber 80mm?/halo harness): I believe I got the 80mm ones that can fit inside. Overall, these were the biggest pain to install out of the whole kit. I already mentioned the cutting above. Second, there is a recommended $25.00 harness that allows you to power the rings directly off your battery but it is sold separately; you have to ask for it specifically. If you get that kit, you need to find room for another 2 grounding points and another relay box. Don't let that turn you off though... just one halo is bright enough to light up a room and when installed, the effect is indescribable. I find myself hitting my remote just to see them light up one more time.

TRS has some amazing customer service and i would definitely be willing to buy from them again whenever I run my Civic into the ground. Their product is rock solid and sexy as all hell. I can't believe I waited so long to do this!!!
