Bi-Xenon Projectors: The ACME projectors may be inexpensive, but they really do deliver real performance at the right price. Here, their standard bi-xenon projectors come standard with a clear lens and a curved cutoff shield to produce a wide, bright, and respectably sharp beam pattern. Based on older Morimoto designs, they may not be the cream of the crop by today’s standards – but that doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own. For the price we really can’t argue otherwise, and besides; unless you’re a real headlight nerd like us you probably wont notice the difference that spending twice would deliver down the road anyways.
ACME 35w SpeedyStart Ballasts: Speedy Gonzales has nothin' on the ACME SpeedyStart 35w ballasts when it comes to warm up time. These go zero to full intensity in just 3.5 seconds! So good in fact that we've discontinued the once popular "FastBright" ballasts in their favor. Their external igniters and high voltage wiring is shielded to help mitigate EMI interference (radio static) so it's unlikely that these ballasts will disturb your afternoon rock block! They may not have some of the bells, whistles, or warranty that the more expensive options offer, but they certainly check the box when it comes to bang for the buck.
ACME H1 Bulbs: Are no joke. Precise alignment, accurate color temps, and ultra-low failure rate. They truly are the standard others strive for!
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your headlights are gonzo. Morimoto’s harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle’s original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto’s Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling bulb out warnings.
Optional Precision Bulb Holders: Designed by Morimoto in California, the new MotoHo1der utilizes a three-piece design that's way more effective but virtually no bigger overall than the old clip setup. The clever three-piece design provides even pressure on the back of the bulb, ensuring perfect alignment. To be honest, we think it's the single best upgrade to the projector that's ever been conceived since it helps make the most of the awesome 7.0's on the road. Well worth the extra few bucks in the grand scheme of things!
Optional LED Halos: Though LED halos may not be for everybody, if you’re looking for the cleanest, most simple, most reliable setup, we highly recommend the Profile Performance Pivot Halos. Not only are they the brightest, most uniformly lit halos currently on the market, but they double as a switchback turn signal with your blinker circuit. The integrated controllers are extremely easy to setup with only three wires (white, amber, and ground) and allow you to run the white mode continuously until interrupted by the signal – at which point they will blink amber. Once the signal stops, the Pivot ring will automatically switch back to its pure white mode.
Optional Housing Sealant: Protection is priceless! When you're putting together a set of high-end headlights, the last thing you want is moisture in 'em the first time it rains outside. RetroRubber is the most effective way to make sure the original seal is fully restored. For the small price, why anybody wouldn’t prevent their new headlights from fogging up is beyond us. It’ll be the best twelve bucks you’ve ever spent.

I'm impressed by the performance and the build quality of this product.
I have a 2003 Honda Civic. The H4 headlights that it came with just weren't cutting it for the unlit secondary roads covered with deer that I live on. Did some research, but didn't want to break the bank as the car is old and has 170k on the clock (but still runs like a champ!). Upgraded halogen bulbs and drop-in LEDs didn't make things any better. The Retrofit Source was very responsive and answered my questions - they even sent install video links! Everything seemed easy enough for a home mechanic who's never done a retrofit before. I ordered the ACME Super kit (it's a more recent, but discontinued Morimoto design), as I thought the extra few bucks was worth it over the most basic ACME model. The install took me a bit longer than expected because I was taking my time and I had to take the bumper off to remove the headlights. I can't say that any of it was particularly hard. The results... just wow! I have a brand new Mazda with the factory adaptive LED lights and it easily rivals them. They also don't look out of place on the car. I'm very happy with the results. I'd recommend this kit and TRS to anyone and I'd install another kit in a heartbeat!
Retrofitted into a class-A motor-home that sourced mid 90's Ford Pickup head light assemblies. Couldn't be more pleased with the ease of installation and end results. Well done TRS!!
The kit included everything I needed to perform my first retro on a 2009 Chevy Cobalt. The process wasn't difficult, just time consuming. The lights have gone from the worst I have used to some of the best. Very impressed with the value.
I bought these projector kit because is my first time trying it and i didn't want something to expensive and didn't want to ruin it, but the installation was really easy, im really excited. The light out-put is very very bright, I truly recommend it to anyone that is trying these for the first time. Now my 7th gen Accord is ready for the car season. Hope to make another purchase soon, Thank You
I love them. The price is just right for someone not wanting to spend huge bucks on some of the others. The light output is very bright and very fast to turn on and switch from low to high beam. I would buy these again and recommend them to anyone. I installed these on my 03 f150.
I was very scared at first when I bought these but after installing them, I am amazed. The light output is great, cut-off is smooth, price is just right. I put these in a 03 F150 and it was a easy. I highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting new headlights but not wanting to spend all there money!!!
This is the first purchase i make with you guys and i have to say, i can not be more happier about it, the quality of the products sold here and the way that your online support assists customers it is remarkable, i was kind of hesitating to get this projector kit and install it on my own but the online support kindly guided me thought the whole purchase and pointed me into the right direction and after i knew, i had the most spectacular lights for the market price i got. keep it up folks, my only feedback would be to expand yourselves, get more local stores across the country
Let me first start out by stating this is my first retrofit so some things are my fault and a few are the products. I wanted to give some time before I made my review simply because a lot of negative things happened up front and I didn't want to be salty from luck of the draw or by user ignorance.
I had several install problems that caused some grief, I will speak about the kit first, 1) didn't provide any screws for my shrouds, almost ruined my build night as I had to speed down to lowes before they closed to buy some 2) harness provides a male adapter for your highs, would have been GREAT if the projectors came with a female adapter (if it does then I didn't recieve it payed $8 off Ebay for a set so no worries). I may be wrong but when I buy a kit I expect everything needed to install and plug and play to be provided. If you don't provide it then it would be great if you mentioned it just to avoid confusion. This is minor but it might save someone from having the same issues.
The install was pretty straight forward but the screws used to hold the HID bulb bracket strip VERY easily, they are a cheap zinc screw and while trying to adjust a few times one stripped out, this could be user error but I didn't tighten them down enough imho to strip. If I do another kit I will buy some steel ones from the local shop to avoid this problem. I ended up having to JB weld a bit to prevent the bracket moving, not a major issue as I wont remove them. My next problem was faulty hardware, obviously this is nothing new with electronics but my ballast blew after a week of usage and burned out my bulb, TRS replaced them free of charge but I feel like I should mention that it did happen.
The end result is these are phenomonal, even with only one headlight working at the time of posting this my 5000k light still outshines 2x halogen on the road. It honest to God looks like I'm driving with 2x ZXE's at their prime down the highway. The result is what I desired and I'm happy with what I payed, the output of these 5000k HIDs are just insane, I overpowered my buddies cheap kensun 5000k kit by a large margin and I'm very impressed with TRS customer support. A special thank you to Jimmy for such a wonderful experience and for helping me get my warranty done without a hitch.
I did my first retrofit on a 2012 Ford Focus for someone that isn't a car enthusiast, they were just looking for something to improve their lighting since they have driven cars with HIDs before. They were on a budget since spending $400+ wasn't a good return on the investment. I have to say, these are amazing! Especially for people that won't be able to tell much difference between brands. This has got to be the best bang for your buck, also has the added bonus of coming from TRS and not from other sellers because TRS customer service is also amazing.
