More with Less: In this industry, its general practice is to start by boasting about bogus lumen ratings. Let's try this instead: The XTR VF LED bulbs are not the most powerful option out there. They are however the most effective upgrade out there, and will out-perform every alternative on the market by doing more with less. The numbers game is simply an excuse for a lack of refinement, and we're not here to play. Here's why.
Virtual Filament: In this industry, this term has been tossed around so much due to the fact that until now; there never has been a true solution that mimics the lighting characteristics of an incandescent filament 1:1. Not from Morimoto. Not from VLEDs, Osram, or HPL. The optical system on the XTR VF precisely recreates the output of the bulbs they're designed to replace and that's the ONLY way to leverage all of the facets on the reflectors that surround them (and maximize intensity).
Omni-Adjustable: Designing around a virtual filament is step one, but providing users with the ability to position the XTR VF's filament properly within the housing is just as important. Their telescoping and rotatable collar system allows you to perfectly match the focus height and rotation of your original setup (and maximize intensity).
Applications: The XTR VF is designed around CREE XQ-E high-intensity series LED chips, and are available in a pure white, red, amber, and switchback. Their universal collar fits any headlight or taillight housing, making them the perfect solution for those who are unwilling to compromise on intensity from their turn, brake, tail and daytime running lights.
Reliability: Since they're not designed to over-achieve on lumens, the LED's aren't over-driven with power, and therefore the thermal capabilities aren't over capacity. The XTR VF has been optimized to run at sustained high outputs for extended periods of time without affecting their performance. Beware of outputs claiming 1500-3000 lumens. In a system this size, that would stabilize at around 500F--which is basically a red flag for unrealistic numbers.
Optional Equipment: If your front turn signal bulb doubles as a DRL, the optional T-DRL module will auto-correct the function for switchback bulbs and ensure they run white, yet amber for blinker. If you're using the XTR VF as a turn signal, the optional T-Signal module will prevent hyper flash. All options are cross compatible across size & color configurations.
Setup: Although the wiring is plug n play, don't expect a quick install here. To perform properly, they've got to be setup & focused properly. To set them up properly, you've got to spend some time carefully fine tuning the rotation & focal height of the virtual filament relative to the base. Perfection takes a bit of time, so if you're impatient, the XTR VF isn't for you.
