Morimoto: Has always been our go-to-guys when it came to HID, and when they released their line of LED products, we had our doubts. Performance left a little to be desired compared to some of the more refined models on the market. BUT (and thats a big BUT) that has since changed with the much more mature, refined second generations of each model they offer. While in all-honesty Morimoto didn't exactly nail it the first time around on the LED bulbs, what we have from them today is about as modern as it gets and much more in-line with the quality and performance we've all come to expect from the brand.
So What's new with Version Two? Updated optics help distribute light in every direction, most notably improving rear-ward spread. The newer drivers are compatible with a wider variety of vehicles and have better contrast between low and high intensity modes. We dig it!
Featured: In the October 2015 issue of DSport Magazine alongside LED offerings from Philips and Osram. Morimoto is the benchmark in aftermarket automotive lighting!
Instant: Beautiful, bright light. Nearly infinite life span. Great for signal, marker, brake, and tail lights. The XB LED bulbs are an instant upgrade in the looks and performance for the lighting on your car from bumper to bumper.
Tradition: As a manufacture best known for their optics in headlight projectors: Naturually Morimoto's XB LED bulbs feature a polycarbonate optical lens. With perfect clarity that distributes the light from it's six LEDs in a 360 degree pattern, these bulbs will radiate light in all directions without any dark spots.
Protected: Heat management is crucial for reliability when it comes to LEDs. Using just six LED chips to produce peak output, the XB LED generates less heat compared to other bulbs that sometimes use up to 48 chips. The CREE XB-D LEDs are mounted inside the lens, which sits atop a ribbed aluminum heat sink. Inside; an integrated thermal resistor reduces output as a secondary level of protection.
Can-bus: The XB LED bulbs are can-bus friendly and should not cause "lamp out" errors in MOST applications. If however your vehicle requires more resistance, we recommend using the Morimoto HD Load Resistors which will instantly and safely resolve any issues there.
CREE LEDs: For more info on what's inside, you can download the CREE Data sheet on the emitters that Morimoto uses in the XB LED bulbs.

Can't say I'm impressed often, but these bulbs in my 02 Tahoe are a night and day difference from OEM. They are damn bright lighting up the street behind my Tahoe so well that it could be used as an office at night!
when I installed these in the vehicle these switch backs alone are bright. gives off a white light like hid. looks awesome. when you use the turn signals the orange is a little dim however you can still see it in day light, it's better looking in the night time. I do recommend them buy it. and I also recommend buying the led resistors. these do give hyper flash. or you can just upgrade your vehicle flasher to handle leds. each vehicle is different. these bulbs will give you the look you're looking for!!!
Installed on 2nd gen Tacoma, after some readjustment in wiring made them as running lights in white, which are perfectly fine, however turn signals i wished to be brighter, as leds are only front facing, side chips would provide more enlightenment to reflectors. Resistors for hyperflashing are put only on turn signals, not getting hot while white DTRL running... current goes only through when amber turn signal mode activated ...
These bulbs are great! They're very bright and noticeable day/night in the blacked out turn signal bowl of my 2005 Toyota Tacoma headlights. Only thing I would change/add is some side facing/shooting LEDs as these are only front facing, which creates a "hotspot" of light.
I got a pair of the 3157 CK Amber lights and let me tell you its a big difference thank stock! Not to mention the price is right for these led bulbs versus other sites that want to charge allot more. Bright, easy to install and priced right!
very very good. way brighter than almost all competitors and a lot cheaper in most cases half the price. super bright output for my brake lights. i will only use these from now on. going to get them for my 3156 turn signal front and back as well!
Based on several previous TRS purchases I really wanted to like these bulbs, and had high hopes for them.
Unfortunately, as Ryan said they're a different height-off-the-base from an incandescent bulb and therefore they don't fill-out the reflector properly... leaving a hot-spot. Might work better in another housing.
Also, without a built-in resistor I had hyperflash and multiple CANBUS errors in my E39 BMW. YMMV.
Guess I'll be trying to return them and spending $4 on something at AutoZone... there's really not much room for me to try and cut these corner marker harnesses to wire in resistors, unfortunately.
Love these bulbs, bright fill the lamp reflector completely and work with no need for load resistors . I bought two sets to replace E bay Samsung style switchbacks and these blow them away.
Purchased the Amber bulbs to replace my 3457NA stockers. Bulbs look physically fantastic, well engineered in their current form, however, they miss the mark big time on functionality.
They don't sit in the housing anywhere close to the stock bulbs and therefore the distribution of light is a mess. Very difficult to see during daylight and the big round bright spot from the 6 LED array is unattractive when looking through a clear lens housing.
Nighttime driving visibility is great and performs very well, save for the bright spot mentioned above.
1 star for the price point considering the other junk out there for the same price.
3 stars for a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing to look at product when not lit up.
I wish I felt like I could give a better review based on TRS' reputation for mind blowing optics and design. I can't recommend these If you truly want an LED upgrade comparable to incandescent.
I got a set of the white one for my drls they match my 4500k hid's perfect.
I also got a set of the switch backs for my turn signal and parking lights they work great once again the whites matched my 45ooks hids also
