INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS
Coveted: From our customers perspective, it's hard to imagine a better solution in terms of performance and ease of install than the Morimoto Elite Systems. The product of years of research, development, and innovation, Morimoto's 2014 GMC Sierra HID lighting system includes a selection of high performance components that when used in conjunction delivers unequivocal results. It's well worth a few extra bucks compared to anything else on the market, and today has become one of the best selling HID lighting systems in our entire catalog. Check out these install threads 1,2,3,4, 5 posted by do-it-yourself Sierra owners just like you.
Install Video: Not ready to just take our word for it, and didn't feel like reading through all the install links on the forums? Check out an Install Video and Review by this online blogger who loved the Sierra Spec kit and matching XB fogs. It's a "must watch" if you're considering the upgrade for your truck!
Sierra Wiring: A special Sierra Spec HD Relay Harness is designed to make your Sierra install piece of cake. Double-sealed 40A relays and 14-gauge stranded copper wire wrapped in durable black tech-flex mesh are completely new features that ensure the wire harness meets and exceeds the looks and quality of the factory parts it's replacing. No cutting, no splicing, no mess, and no stress. There are only five connections, and each of them is plug-n-play. Most importantly, the harness includes the proper capacitor to absorb and smooth out the pulsed signal from the factory Sierra fog light circuit that plagues these trucks.
Powerful Ballasts: Morimoto may be known first and foremost for developing the aftermarket's best HID bulbs, but they've also changed the game when it comes to ballasts. The all-new XB ballasts included in this HID lighting system offer the perfect blend of function and style with an industrial-edge design and state-of-the-art technology. Morimoto moved the igniters closer to the HID bulb to mimic OEM and further away from the circuitry to reduce EMI/RFI radio interference and eliminate failures and misfires. We've sold thousands of these and use them in our own vehicles. User approved!
9012 XB Bulbs: Let's face it: the Sierra is a great truck, but the stock fog lights suck! We hear it all the time from late model Sierra owners. When installed in the Sierra's fog lights, Morimoto XB HID bulbs will help you instantly achieve your dreams when it comes to a 2014/2015 GMC Sierra fog light upgrade. We put the XB 9012 HID bulbs up against industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K and they produced nearly identical lumin Osity. Better yet, that bright, color accurate, and intense beam will last as long as far more expensive OEM alternatives.
Fully Backed: At The Retrofit Source Inc., we don't carry products we aren't confident enough to back with a full 5-year warranty on all components.* The Morimoto Elite 2015/2014 GMC fog light upgrade kit is designed to run for 2,500 hours, so that's what the guarantee covers. Even better, we're always available to offer expert assistance and advice to help you through any technical difficulties you are experiencing. We've seen some pretty crazy promises being made by other online dealers. A "lifetime" warranty on a product with a finite service life, really? Just remember if it's too good to be true, it probably is. [*XB55 kits have a 3-year warranty]

Excellent Upgrade
by Donald
I now love everything about my 2015 Denali 2500 HD! At least now that I have headlights that will actually allow me to see at night! I decided on the Morimoto Elite kit with the XB55 computer and XB 5500K lamps. Installation was simple and took right around 1.5 hours including the installation of LED fog lights.
It is easy to see that this kit consist of quality hardware. All wiring is contained in black heavy duty wire loom which not only offers protection but makes for a much nicer and neat installation which totally blends in to your engine compartment. All plugs are high quality with waterproof connectors. Everything you need for installation is included with the exception of wire ties and screws. This kit matches perfectly with the LED daytime running lights and the XB LED fog lamps.
For the record I have read through a couple of forums where people had issues with the lamps shining to the right side of the vehicle. During installation pay special attention to the position that the bulbs lock in to the sockets. When locked in to place the wires on the lamps will be facing down. Attempting to install them in any other position will result in poor beam dispersion.
Great Output
by Jose
Did some research and knew this was the kit, after failed attempts on prior vehicles with DDM and other cheap kits. This is a great kit, but the harness to the opposite side should be at least a foot longer to mount it properly. It is really stupid how GM put an air box screw under an A/c line too, I took apart the front end since I was also replaced the grille, I removed the headlights, installed the kit and re-installed them. The color matches the LED's on the SLT and the light output is a lot better. stock projector high beam illuminates on top of you and not ahead of you. Next project maybe........
Great Product and performance
by Rick
Installed the Morimoto-elite-hid-system on my 2015 Sierra this weekend. WOW, I can now see at night. Prior to this, it was like driving at night with no lights on. Installation was fairly easy. Only difficult part was removal of air filter box and drilling of headlamp covers. I highly recommend this product to all GMC Sierra owners who want to see at night while driving.

HUGE difference
by Todd
Stock halogen lights on the '15 Sierra Denali are junk - barely adequate for driving in the parking lot. This HID kit fits perfectly. Ran the passenger-side wiring under the plastic shroud and mounted all the hardware to the front bulkhead with self-tapping screws. The only visible hardware is some wiring between the underhood fuse box and the driver side headlamp housing. Unless you were really looking for it, the system looks nearly stock! I've been running this kit with the TRS custom-fit LED fog lights for about a year now and it's been completely trouble-free, even through the winter in MN.
Great upgrade to factory lights
by Cortlin LaBlank
I ordered the 35w set for my 2015 GMC 2500. I had a 2017 gmc with the new gm lights and they were great, I traded down for a bigger truck and wanted to match the lights the 17 had. The setup was fairly easy and took an hour or so to do. I was not happy with the light output so I returned the 35w for the 50w. I would recommend the 50w for the noticeable light output differance. My only complaint is there is a buzzing from one of the ballasts, the 35w did not do that but trs says that is normal. So far so good.
Huge upgrade over factory lights
by Robert Deferrari
This review is for the 35w ballast and the 4500k lights on a 2015 GMC Sierra. The light output from the 4500k bulb is considerably whiter than the factory halogens and EXTREMELY bright. I understand that the projector sends the light beam in the same patter as the factory lights, but since they are so bright you definitely feel like the patter is wider since everything in front of you gets lit up. I did re-aim the beams down a bit because several people flashed their high beams at me. I feel safe driving at night now, especially in the rain.
The overall installation was fairly easy. They include an extension that goes from the relay to the driver side ballast but I didn't need it. If you take your time there are plenty of ways to tuck everything away neatly. My only complaint would be the wires coming off of the light bulb that go to the igniter are very short and it really limits your mounting options for the igniter. It would be nice if they were a few inches longer.
The quality of the product seems excellent, as is the customer service and you get peace of mind with a 5 year warranty. Shame on GM for putting such crap on a great truck, KUDOS to TRS for correcting their screw up!
Let there be light

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra with the horrible projector lights. I finally got around to ordering and installing this upgrade. Install was pretty smooth and I will know more tonight after I try them in the dark but can tell a world of difference just aiming them at the wall. The Retrofit Source was great to deal with and answered all my questions. Highly recommend this for 2014 and 15 GMC Sierra projector light suffers.
I will never order off brand HID/LED kits again
by Ryan Grieder
I've owned anything from xentec, XKGLOW, OPT7, Hikari, to no name Amazon/ebay brand kits. I always thought they were all great. Always said why waist 150+ bucks on others when cheaper brands were fine. I was wrong. SO wrong. I swear I'll never cheap out on my lights again. This was worth every penny. I don't even write reviews on anything. But I had to take a minute of my time and just help you all reading the reviews. Just do it. Simple as that. You don't even need the 55w kit I should have done the 35w because it's legit almost too bright to where I feel bad. Save your money and get off Amazon and just get a morimoto kit. If you could "like" a review you would come back and like this post and write your own.
I did however experience a small problem. And I don't even care I'll still give 5 star. I couldn't use the wire that's connected to the HID bulb that goes into the stock bulb housing. I had to run direct from relay harness right to stock connection and then it worked. Don't even care... The results are insane.
Love these lights

I have been buying lights from TRS for years now. The quality of the product is undeniable and the customer support is second to none. Thanks for lighting my 12 O'Clock.
night and day difference.
