Coveted: From our customers perspective, it's hard to imagine a better solution in terms of performance and ease of install than the Morimoto Elite Systems. The product of years of research, development, and innovation, Morimoto's 2014 GMC Sierra HID lighting system includes a selection of high performance components that when used in conjunction delivers unequivocal results. It's well worth a few extra bucks compared to anything else on the market, and today has become one of the best selling HID lighting systems in our entire catalog. Check out these install threads 1,2,3,4, 5 posted by do-it-yourself Sierra owners just like you.
Install Video: Not ready to just take our word for it, and didn't feel like reading through all the install links on the forums? Check out an Install Video and Review by this online blogger who loved the Sierra Spec kit and matching XB fogs. It's a "must watch" if you're considering the upgrade for your truck!
Sierra Wiring: A special Sierra Spec HD Relay Harness is designed to make your Sierra install piece of cake. Double-sealed 40A relays and 14-gauge stranded copper wire wrapped in durable black tech-flex mesh are completely new features that ensure the wire harness meets and exceeds the looks and quality of the factory parts it's replacing. No cutting, no splicing, no mess, and no stress. There are only five connections, and each of them is plug-n-play. Most importantly, the harness includes the proper capacitor to absorb and smooth out the pulsed signal from the factory Sierra fog light circuit that plagues these trucks.
Powerful Ballasts: Morimoto may be known first and foremost for developing the aftermarket's best HID bulbs, but they've also changed the game when it comes to ballasts. The all-new XB ballasts included in this HID lighting system offer the perfect blend of function and style with an industrial-edge design and state-of-the-art technology. Morimoto moved the igniters closer to the HID bulb to mimic OEM and further away from the circuitry to reduce EMI/RFI radio interference and eliminate failures and misfires. We've sold thousands of these and use them in our own vehicles. User approved!
9012 XB Bulbs: Let's face it: the Sierra is a great truck, but the stock fog lights suck! We hear it all the time from late model Sierra owners. When installed in the Sierra's fog lights, Morimoto XB HID bulbs will help you instantly achieve your dreams when it comes to a 2014/2015 GMC Sierra fog light upgrade. We put the XB 9012 HID bulbs up against industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K and they produced nearly identical lumin Osity. Better yet, that bright, color accurate, and intense beam will last as long as far more expensive OEM alternatives.
Fully Backed: At The Retrofit Source Inc., we don't carry products we aren't confident enough to back with a full 5-year warranty on all components.* The Morimoto Elite 2015/2014 GMC fog light upgrade kit is designed to run for 2,500 hours, so that's what the guarantee covers. Even better, we're always available to offer expert assistance and advice to help you through any technical difficulties you are experiencing. We've seen some pretty crazy promises being made by other online dealers. A "lifetime" warranty on a product with a finite service life, really? Just remember if it's too good to be true, it probably is. [*XB55 kits have a 3-year warranty]

2015 Sierra Spec review
by Trvais
After being blind at night for 6 months in my new 2015 Sierra, I decided it was time to do something about the terrible stock halogen lights... Many hours researching and talking to many shops about an HID upgrade lead me to the retrofit source. Shipping was a bit slow getting them to Canada but it was worth the wait. First off the quality of the packaging was impressive, I had no worries about shipping damage that's for sure. Top notch! I have worked with many aftermarket kits on numerous projects and this kit amazed me with the quality of the wiring and connectors used in the kit. My only complaint is very limited instructions for installation, I could see less experienced people looking for more guidance than provided online.
Once install was complete they fired right up, no flickering or issues what so ever! I knew right away I was going to need to adjust the aim of the lights down so I wouldn't blind other drivers. Two full turns on the adjusters and I had amazing low beam performance showering the road with light and have never been flashed by other drivers. High beam.... Let there be light!!! Wow.... I can safely see two to three times the distance as I could before.
Highly recommended, these lights could save me from an accident in my future.
Absolute best customer service I have ever received!

The crew over at TRS made this purchase one of my favorite yet. Not only did it make night driving 100% safer it made it more enjoyable. Sierra kit was a very simple plug and play install. Dont know why GMC didnt do this before they ever left the factory.
50w HID upgrade
by Marcus Coulter
My first observation is that everything was very well packaged, the only minor change I would make would be to wrap the bulbs in bubble wrap as they are the most fragile and critical component. A point that was reinforced to me when the delivery person fumbled the box and dropped it on my driveway while handing it to my daughter, and yes my daughter than dropped the box a second time while handing to me. LOL
Once opened it is quite clear that this kit is far more refined than the previous TRS Kit I bought 2 year ago:
Old HID Kit: 9012 MORIMOTO Elite HID System:
 Ballasts - 3Five DSP
 Harness Type - HD Relay
 Bulbs – 3Five 4,300
 Capacitor Link
 Extra Set of Bulb's (better to have local than be SOL)
New HID Kit: 2014+ SIERRA: MORIMOTO ELITE – 50W
 Ballasts - 50w/AMP: Morimoto XB Ballast
 Harness Type - HD Relay 9005/9006
 Morimoto Anti-Flicker Capacitor Link
 Bulbs – 9012: XB 4500K
 Wire Harness Extension – 9006 Extension
The HD Harness has been significantly improved and only need a single ground, as opposed to the original kit that had 3 grounding points. It was also quite nice that each wire was pre-labelled, which simplifies the install. In fact it took me longer to uninstall the old kit than it did to install the new one. It took me about an hour get everything hooked up, but I still need to do some clean up as my CAI make it a bit more tricky to run / secure / hide all of the wiring.
I did noticed that the Test Lead and Extension were missing from the box which was a bummer, however I was able to get everything installed without issue.
The first time I turn my new lights on, I was smiling ear to ear, and thought wow what a difference over the old 35w kit, the beam pattern is now laser sharp.
Great Job TRS!
PRO’s:
 HD Harness Wires are all pre-labeled
 Heat shrink and loom assembled by a pro
 Less grounds to worry about
 HD radio interference is gone
 I can bloody see more than 25ft in front of my truck!!
Improvements:
 HD Harness Wire Labels are cheap and will fall off, given the awesome heat shrink and loom used, why not just use color coded heat shrink on the ends as labels, this would look clean, and last forever. (Green to Green, Red to Red, etc)
 The Test Lead & Extension called out in the Standard Parts were not included in the box
 None of the other component wires are labeled.
 The CAP Link is a square box, which makes it a bit awkward to securely mount, a Screw Tab would be nice.
 The Drivers Side Ballets Lead is about 8 inches to short and limits mounting of the HD relay, thus requiring an extension. From a Manufacturing perspective, would it not be more cost effective to just make the primary lead longer, vs. having to create, package, store, ship, a separate extension?
 The headlight Grommets provided are of a lesser quality then my old kit. Rubber vs silicone gasket
Improvements – Install Guide:
 On Page 1, the customer install links are formatted as an image, not text, thus you cannot copy and paste the into a browser, thus you have to actually type the entire URL. Not the end of the world, but a 10 second change on your end benefits each new customer.

Awesome

I got my truck 2 weeks before I installed this kit. I picked up a 14 and loved the truck. Seen the complaints about the headlights. Well they were accurate they suck. So I tried an led kit. It's a good kit not for the truck though. The projectors with led lights was as bad as stock. Figured I would accept my losses on the leds and buy this kit. Had it installed in about an hour it was hot out so I took a few breaks. The light output is amazing. I got the 55w with 4500. They do have a slight yellow tint. But they are easy on the eyes when driving. My entire drive to work consists of 15 miles of no street lights. I have no issues seeing and haven't been flashed one time. Defiantly love this kit and well worth the money.
Amazing light output and beautiful colors, issues with harness design
by Daniel Elek
Let me start by saying I love the look of this 35w 5500k kit on my truck. Light output and color are great, they look very very high quality. MUCH nicer look than the DDMs in my old truck. I was steered away from the 55w by customer service because of longevity and heat issues in the stock lens. If you have after market lens in your projectors then maybe go with the 55w, but you will not be upset with the 35w. Id give this area of the product 5 stars.
I have some issues with the harness itself. Some wires are overly long, and the important wires are WAY too short. I was not able to run everything the way I would have preferred. I tried 4 different set ups and never really settled on one that I am happy with (it was super frustrating for someone with OCD like me). It would have been nice if some more time was put in to choosing an EXACT, clean wiring map that could be a universal follow. What RetroFit suggest looks really nice on the diagram, but just does not really work because the main lead going to the driver side ballast is about 10-12" too short and the main lead going to the passenger side ballast is also about 10-12" too short in order to mount everything in a clean, un-cluttered way that is not interfering with my CAI, etc. Not that it matters but the battery leads are triple as long as what they need to be.
For what its worth, after everything being tight and weird and basically touching my CAI, I decided I wanted to mount my relays on the side panel close to the battery, with the ballast a few inches in front. Because of the orientation of the plugs coming out of the ballast, either the ignitor wire or the power wire was too short. From the relay I wanted to run the wire along the fire wall chasing another cluster of wires across to the other side, and connect into the ballast mounted on the side. Once again, the ignitor wire is just a touch too short, or vice versa the long power wire is too short too actually have the ballast attached to the side panel and have the wires not pulled as tight as they can possibly be. Long story short, they need to include 2 more extension cables in the kit.
IMPORTANT. My relay is buzzing like a SOB, even with the capacitor connected properly. I have some flickering as well. BUT, I am confident the retro fit source will work with me on getting that issue solved so not too worried.
I will step off my soap box now!! Just my opinions, AMAZING product don't even question it, just buy 2 extra extensions and you'll be happy.
awesome lights
by ryan
I give it 4 stars currently due to one bulb (driver side) intermittently not turning on. Might need to double check one of my connections, but If i can get this fixed then its 5 stars all day.
Everything else is perfect.
If you are looking to match the DRL then i advise the 55w 5500k kit.
it matches it flawlessly.
The components used in these kits are very well built.
In my instance my lights were already balanced correctly so just by swapping these lights in i did not have to re-balance them.

Love this kit. Before I knew about this kit I had already replaced my stock fog lights with rigid industries d2 driving lights. I was estimating them at about 3 times brighter than my stock high beams but just didn't put out very long distances. Got this kit and was a little confused at first because there was one extra wire that I still don't know what it was for and 2 wire harnesses that run from the amp to the lights. After I looked over several diagrams I hooked everything up on the counter of my house so I could understand it better and went for it. Install was pretty easy after I figured out where I wanted to place my ballasts. I went with the 50 amp 5500 Kelvin kit and the color matches almost exactly to my d2 rigid lights. The brightness is actually brighter than d2's and at night fully lit up with my d2's wired to trigger on my hi beams it's absolutely astonishing how much light I'm making. My high beams can light up stop signs very easily from 400 yards easily. I was debating on changing out my stock projectors but for the time being I'm very satisfied with my set up.
Better than expected!

First thoughts was packaging, well packed everything was safe from its journey from Miami to Vancouver, BC. Took about 9 days to get here.
Upon opening this kit I had realized its quality is much higher than i had anticipated as well, the relay wire harness is unreal! Heat shrink and loom meticulously put together to create a factory looking addition to your truck.
Took me about an hour and a half as it took time deciding where to put the relays etc. but once i turned my head lights on it was all worth it. Amazing light output and I just bought the 35w kit, makes me wonder how bright the 55w are! Took a road trip the following weekend and ended up driving at night in the rain, so glad I put these in before we left as they prevented me from hitting a deer. Guaruntee I would have hit it if i had the stock halogens in! A+ retrofit source!
Now its just time to install my 27" torchlight led bar....

I installed this kit on my new truck. First of all, there is a bit of work getting the front grill, and passenger headlight removed from the truck. Once this kit was installed, the truck looked 100x better. However, the actual visibility increase was much lower than TRS kits i have had on many of my past cars. I have 4300k, and 5000k bulbs, 35w. The 4300k match the DRLS better, and have a more uniform appearance to the truck. I am not completely satisfied for the first time, but maybe its just my stock projectors. I think maybe the 55w kit would have been the way to go...
Excellent light output
by Veredale Ware
I bought this HID kit in the 50w version, install was easy but was about 10" short on the long side the way I mounted it but no problem I had more 280 series terminals I just made my own extension price was best I could find and free fast shipping it got here a day early, after the install light output was a shit ton better than stock and no codes or light out indicators came on so I'm one happy camper again thanks retrofit source
