I used these Morimoto XB 100mm LED angel eye behind my gatlin gun shroud and the final project turned out AWESOME. The angel eye is VERY bright and is a smooth and consistent light all the way around. Great quality, will use them on the next retrofits I do!
I rarely spending time on writing customer comments. But this time I really want to say TRS is the best HID supplier since I started to use HID 8 years ago. I noticed some blinking problems in my first purchase. Then I received an email from TRS for recall and I got a free replacement, a 55W ballast for my old 35W ballast. This is the best HID I have ever seen.
Do not spend money on those PHILIPS HID on ebay. You are very likely been cheated by some fake products made by some illegal factories in China (I am a Chinese, trust me)!
Compared with those 40, 50 bucks HID on ebay, I still recommend TRS since the quality is much much better.
Just finished adding these to my mini h1's and they are amazingly bright. Also did the 3" amber strips in the corners. Thanks TRS for excellent products and excellent customer service.
I just finished doing a retrofit, I ordered the 80mm green xb led for the headlights, and 70mm xb led's for the fog lights, these led's are SICK. They are extremely bright, the only downfall is that the sauter point is on the bottom of the led's, not behind, so depending on how you mount them you'll have to do a bit more modding. I have received so many compliments on these, everybody asks where I bought them. I got the idea from the Challenger, they sell a custom kit for that specific car, someone has this kit on their car in my neighborhood, but they have the Color Shift kit. It looks dope. So I decided to retrofit my headlights and foglights with a green led, it turned out awesome. I'm planning on doing my taillights with the Red Xb led's, the different colors have to be special ordered through TRS, so that will be my next project. This was done on a 96 Dodge Ram 1500, with aftermarket headlights and foglights. The taillights are aftermarket as well, so I'll be starting on them soon. I will post an update with some pics.
Quite a good product! I purchased them to put into my truck that is 24 volts and didn't have any issues with them. They are a great product with only a few points that could be improved. The leads at the bottom of the ring stick out quite far so they are noticeable once installed. I ordered the amber ones, they are quite bright contrary to what some people say. Of course they do get washed out in direct sunlight but its not horrible. And at some angles/amount of day light you can see the individual LEDs. Would buy again.
New Morimoto xbALed look not as good as on picture. New design is good for mounting inside shrouds. But if you mount rings on top of shrouds, soldering point can be shorted by metalized coating of shroud, so you have to isolate them with small tape.
Overall quality is far from be perfect. I've received pair of rings and both have noticeable dents on top cover. Also rings have slightly different emission color.
Excellent Product! Excellent customer care!! Excellent delivery!!! my suv looks awesome, all thanks to TRS. I am very satisfied with all I get from TRS. Good job to the TRS team.
These rings are awesome and super bright !! I was contemplating on whether to buy these or the CCFL'S...if you have the extra money definitely buy these, they're worth it ! I actually had a problem with the voltage regulators being bad but TRS handled it very well and sent me a new working pair quickly. Other than that little hiccup I have no complaints.
I have a Infiniti J30 and had to custom make my head lights. I ordered 80mm, 90mm and the wire harness. I am so impressed with how bright the lights are! Five stars and if I could give more I would. Outstanding product!
I was going to rate these 3 stars, but added a 4th for their awesome service, again. I have now had a couple issues with these. First issue was the wires broke off one of the rings right where its soldered on. It happened as I was installing them into the shrouds. I probably handled them a little too much testing them and wrapping them in heat shrink tubing (the wires), but still, I was quite surprised (and frustrated) how easily they broke off. I decided to buy a solder gun and attempt to fix it. Success, barely. Second was one of the "drivers" or voltage regulator tubes that power these went bad. I lost power to one of them, tested it, and something happened inside the driver and it now outputs power through the negative wire too! weird. I emailed them to see if I could purchase a spare driver, but they reminded me that its on warranty and requested a picture of the driver and said another would be sent out immediately usps first class.
Other than that, these lights are freakin BRIGHT! I have gatling gun 2.0 shrouds. I purchased one 90 mm for inside the shroud to shine through the port holes and decided to purchase another 80mm amber to go on the outside. They look so sick together! Although the white xb's still outshine the ambers even though they are just coming through the port holes! The ambers are still bright, crazy bright if not drowned out by the whites. I use them for daylight running lights all the time. Especially on cloudy or rainy days they look awesome. In direct sunlight you cant hardly see them at all though..
I used these with the Morimoto Mini H1 projectors and mounted them behind the semi-translucent graphite shroud. They are excellent. Even behind the shroud they are EXTREMELY bright. highly visible during the day and easily outshine factory BMW halos and Audi LED strips, while staying tasteful and clean. Handle them carefully during installation and they will last forever.
Over the past couple months I have begun to notice individual LEDs going out. The amber halos are amazingly bright and very unique but with the recent issues I've had with one ring losing so many bulbs it just doesnt turn on at all now, Ill have to give it 4 starts. I highly recommend them over CCFL but I would like to see what TRS is going to do about this.
Me and my friend powered these up just to see how bright they really were and were shocked. Literally so bright its blinding. Must get these!
It's really amazing how bright they are, is one of the best acquisitions in LED lighting to take a car,I would try the amber version.
I bought the 90mm Amber lights for my 2004 Mazda 3. I put them around the lowbeam headlight just on the stock shroud. 90mm was the exact right size for this, although you might be able to use 80mm as well. With 90mm the wires fit perfectly through the holes in the shroud and were concealed.
The lights are good quality and they look great.
However, they really aren't that bright when viewed in daylight (I use them for DRL). Also, the light is not as uniform when seen from up close - you can start to see the individual LED's when just a few feet away.
Another thing to note, the Plus wiring package is the same harness but includes an additional two weatherproof connectors.
Overall, I'm happy with them and they look great, I just wish they were a bit brighter.
I bought 2 sets of the angel eyes.....along with my Morimoto Mini H1 kit 5000K bulbs....they are awesome, they definitely out shine the BMW angel eyes. Love them sooooo much and I'm glad I bought 2 sets.....well worth the money, in my opinion!!!
Purchased the 100mm WHITE ones with my Mini H1 Retro with 6000K bulbs and man they look sick. The first pair I had, had a few of the LED's go out on them but I think that was because I was not as gentle with them as I should have been during installation. But TRS handled the situation and sent me a brand new pair for free. (You guys are awesome by the way). Anyway, they are brighter than any BMW halos and WAY brighter than those cheap "projector with halo headlight housings" that you can get off eBay. They are plenty bright to be used for DRL's and if you look at them at night from a few blocks away, they look as bright as headlights from a distance. Buy these and you wont be disappointed. And as always, TRS was awesome with answering all my questions and assistance with the install.
Much much brighter than the CCFL Angel eyes, I went with the amber to set me apart from the BMW look. Definitely worth the extra cash, you won't be disappointed
Ordered the 90mm Amber's. Incredibly simple to wire up, less fragile than CCFL's, no power bricks like with CCFL's, and they are RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT. Very good product, definitely worth the money.
